The concept of Slow Cabins is simple: you book a cabin on the date of your choice for a minimum of 2 nights. The day of arrival on site must be a Monday, a Wednesday or a Friday. At the time of booking, the location is kept secret but you can choose among 6 regions in Belgium. It is always less than 2 hours from a major Belgian city.
A few tips:
- If you wish to arrive on Sunday, it is sometimes possible but without guarantee. Do not hesitate to make your request by email to Slow Cabins before booking.
- If you prefer a cabin near a train station or a bus stop, just send an email before booking and explain your wish. The best possible cabin will be assigned to you.
- If you have a dog, be aware that there is at least one cabin per region that accepts pets. Don't forget to select the option when you make your reservation.
Exactly 2 weeks before departure, you will receive an e-mail with a brochure containing all useful information about your stay, including the address. The communication is done in Dutch, French or English.
The arrival on site is done autonomously thanks to a secret code. In your cabin, you will have the following facilities: fully equipped kitchen, hot plate, basic ingredients for cooking, living room with wood stove, bathroom with hot water and queen size bed. Sheets are included.
The cabins are 100% energy self-sufficient, have no internet connection and invite you to slow down. Thanks to the panoramic windows, you wake up every morning with a breathtaking view of nature!
Outside, there is a wood-fired barbecue with a grill and deckchairs to make you comfortable. Everything is provided to light the barbecue.
On site, the experience is absolutely exotic. Wake up to the sun and silence, hear the birds singing and smell the greenery. Just be aware of the slow rhythm of nature around you. You can read quietly, take a walk, cook, have a glass of wine by the fire... Sometimes you can see deer in the meadow next door!
When it's raining or snowing outside, make the most of the cocooning atmosphere: candles, board games and books are available.
There is no catering service, but it is possible to have a breakfast basket delivered in some areas, including Hageland, Haspengouw and Antwerp - Noorderkempen.
You can choose to bring your own food (to be prepared and heated in the kitchen or on the barbecue) or buy fresh ingredients from local stores. In the brochure you receive 2 weeks before departure, there's all sorts of advice on where to buy fresh local produce and where to find the best restaurants.
