The rooms and the lodge

There are four rooms: the Douceur room, the Chocolat room with its private steam room, and the Réglisse and Délice rooms with their private whirlpool baths. The interior design is a successful blend of modern and rustic styles, always with a touch of elegance.

The Sucrée-Salée suite is located in a former cellar featuring exposed brick walls and vaulted ceilings, complete with a copper bathtub. The Indonesian lodge, meanwhile, sits on the edge of a natural pond and features a private hot tub perfect for sunbathing.

Life on the estate

Upon arrival, Cathy and Lionel, the owners, will give you a warm welcome in French and English. Feel free to ask them questions about the history of the place, particularly about the heritage of this former hunting lodge belonging to the Duchess of Uzès.

Le Mas de l'Espérance has a magnificent park with plants, flowers and fruit trees, whose delicate scent of cherries, apricots, peaches and nectarines permeates the entire estate. The park has a covered outdoor jacuzzi and a large heated swimming pool of 18x8m, accessible from June to October.

Early in the morning, breakfast is served featuring products from the estate, including fresh juice, jams, and fruit. The menu includes pastries, coffee, tea, yogurt, eggs, cheese, and cold cuts. On sunny days, enjoy breakfast on the terrace or on your own private terrace.

The table d’hôtes combines fine dining with a warm, friendly atmosphere. Cathy, the hostess, serves refined, seasonal cuisine inspired by her grandmother’s recipes and made with fresh, local ingredients. Meals can be enjoyed in the vaulted stone dining room or on the shaded terrace.

Le Mas de l'Espérance a 25-minute drive from Nîmes, making it the ideal base for exploring the region's treasures. Visit the Arènes de Nîmes and the Maison Carrée, which isn't actually square, and admire the Jardins de la Fontaine and the Tour Magne. Then stroll through the medieval streets and enjoy the city's colorful market, where you can taste the best local tapenades and cheeses.
