A home that has stood the test of time

Nestled along the canal, this Italian-inspired residence embodies more than seven centuries of history. The Van Cleef was once the home of the Counts of Van Cleef, influential advisors to the Dukes of Burgundy. Today, its exceptional terrace makes it one of the most enchanting spots in Bruges.

When you enter the lobby, with its many antique art treasures and lush curtains, you are immersed in a world of rare elegance. The furniture mixes styles and unites modern, vintage and antique. You feel immediately comfortable and the staff is very warm. There is a subtle fragrance throughout the hotel.

Dining options

In the morning, a delicious breakfast is served in the green lounge. An impressive collection of modern and contemporary art adorns the walls there.

On the menu: fresh fruit juice, tea, coffee, a variety of breads and pastries, homemade jams, a cheese and charcuterie platter, granola, muesli, Belgian waffles, and a wide selection of eggs. The chef’s specialty: Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon! A real treat.

Weather permitting, you can enjoy breakfast on the beautiful terrace by the canal while boats glide past.

Every day from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., join us in the bright greenhouse. There, olive-green velvet armchairs await you for afternoon tea. Scones, thin-sliced sandwiches, macarons, and the chef’s petit fours are served on silver trays, accompanied by a selection of teas, herbal teas, and coffees.
