La Cabane du Chêne is a tree house located on a private estate in Mozet, a 20-minute drive from Namur, Belgium. Celebrating a birthday? If your stay takes place between Sunday and Thursday, and your birthday falls during this period, you'll receive a surprise decoration in the cabin + 2 large slices of chocolate cake (génoise) free of charge. We were lucky enough to spend a memorable night in the cabin, while chatting with the owners and strolling around the estate. The view is sensational (our on-site video) and a real change of scenery.

On the morning of your arrival day, you will receive all the details of your reservation. Arrival is entirely self-guided. You can arrive as early as 5pm. If you have any concerns, the team is almost always on hand at the farm, and Léa can always be reached.

The tree house is built over 2 floors and includes the following facilities: a small, comfortable living room, a small wooden table in the shape of a flower petal, a sink, a dry toilet, a cosy bedroom upstairs and 2 outdoor terraces. At the foot of the tree, a small garden with a brazier/barbecue is at your disposal.

A private wellness area, located around 200 meters from the cabin, is available as an option. The price is €50 for 2 hours. Facilities include outdoor Jacuzzi, sauna, Nordic bucket and shower. Self-service bathrobes and slippers. When the weather's fine, you can also take a stroll in the farm's vegetable garden.

Our tip: book your slot in the spa as far in advance as possible before your day of arrival, so you can rest easy. Simply send a message via Whatsapp to Léa, who handles reservations. Example: "We've booked on behalf of Honnet and would like the 6pm slot for the jacuzzi."

If you like a hot shower in the morning, you can use the one in the wellness area. Don't forget to ask when you book. It's free of charge.

La Cabane du Chêne is located near Gesves, about 20 minutes from Namur in Wallonia. You're on the private estate of the romantic Basseilles farm. If you'd like to explore the surrounding area, we suggest a visit to the Grottes de Goyet, a rare and protected underground heritage, home to one of Europe's most prestigious prehistoric sites.

To eat nearby, we liked Restaurant Nous, just a few minutes' drive away: very tasty dishes and a top-notch team. The second night, we opted for a Netflix evening and tried Le Couscoussier via Uber Eats: very, very good!
