Our experience

We had the opportunity to spend a night there and have very fond memories. What we liked best: the location close to the forest and lakes, the quality of the materials, the romantic ambience of the restaurant (some tables overlook the lake), the very friendly staff and the pervasive feeling of luxury and space.

First of all, you should know that the hotel is particularly modern and flexible. That’s not all that common, yet it’s so much appreciated.

Here are a few examples:

1. If you book online, you can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 6pm the day before your arrival date.
2. The hotel's official website is well thought-out and easy to use, so you can book in the best possible conditions.
3. Check-in is possible from 3pm and check-out until 11am (if necessary, don't hesitate to request a late check-out).
4. The hotel accepts one dog per booking at an additional cost, with small extras: soft mat, bowls, toys and surprises.
5. The team speaks several languages, including German and Dutch.
6. A large free parking lot is available just outside the entrance.
7. Wifi access is immediate and password-free (as it should always be!).

Rooms and Suites

There are 90 rooms and suites. A rare feature: all rooms have a private terrace overlooking one of the 2 lakes. A real breath of fresh air in the heart of the Luxembourg countryside. We stayed in the Premium Suite (n°201), which we highly recommend if you want to make a lasting impression. Bathtub right in front of the bed.

Depending on the room you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: minimum 30m² surface area, king-size bedding, private bathroom with Italian shower and/or whirlpool bathtub, whirlpool bathtub on the terrace, large picture window with view, coffee machine with capsules and Smart TV.

The rooms are arranged around a large, light-filled 3-storey atrium. It's really beautiful... Like suddenly feeling like you're on a futuristic spaceship or space station far from Earth. Nice view of the forest.

Life in the hotel

In the evening, we headed for the gourmet restaurant Le Sensa. We ate there and it was flawless. And it's one of the hotel's great strengths.

Our recommendations for the restaurant:

- Try to book as early as 6.30pm or 7pm if possible to take advantage of the best tables.
- The restaurant is accessible even if you're not sleeping at the hotel
- There are several types of table: the classic tables in the center of the restaurant, 7 large honeycomb tables, 5 tables overlooking the lake and a bar just opposite the kitchen with 7 additional seats. We advise you to book a table with a view or a honeycomb table (our favorites).
- Belgian chef Yves Mattagne is responsible for the restaurant's menu. He has been awarded two Michelin stars. The Yuzu cod is incredible (the butter sauce... my god) and Mattagne's broccolini with tzaziki should also convince you.
- The atmosphere is very sophisticated: fresh flowers, superb ceiling lights, small lamps on each table and shrubs between the tables.
- Wine idea? We liked the White Scandal, an Apulian wine with a surprising passion scent.

At the end of the evening, why not make a detour to the hotel's Lounge Bar, right next to the restaurant? Of course, it's open all day. Numerous wines by the glass, cocktails and non-alcoholic mocktails. Very friendly barman. Try one of the 4 signature cocktails: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The photo of the Autumn is above.

In the morning, breakfast is served in the restaurant from 7 a.m. in the form of a continental buffet. On the menu: fresh, homemade, or local products. You can enjoy it in your room, which is what we did during our stay.

A campsite surrounded by nature

Anatura Hotel ideally located in a natural setting, far from everything, in the north of Luxembourg. Luxembourg City is 45 minutes away and Cologne is 2 hours away. Feel free to ask for ideas for walks at reception. If you exit through the atrium, there is a lovely 2-hour route that winds through the forest.

Another idea if the weather is rainy: the Massen Shopping Center, 10 minutes away. A very pleasant shopping center that is well known in the region, with prices lower than in Belgium.
