Le Made in Louise (MIL to its friends) is a charming 3* hotel located in Ixelles, in the heart of the Art Nouveau district, near the center of Brussels, 8 minutes from the Grand Place. This is our favorite place to sleep in Brussels, and we've stayed here a dozen times.
We recommend booking your stay at Made in Louise via Booking.com, which often offers free cancellation. Send us a message on Instagram if you go, it would make us super happy.
Le Made in Louise is a family story. Mélanie and Martin Duchateau are inseparable brother and sister. Both graduates of the École Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, they bought the former Hotel Louise in 2011. Together with their mother, an interior designer, they completely renovated the hotel, respecting the style and charm of this 20th-century Brussels house.
On site, you'll discover a warm and inviting interior with an eye for detail. We welcome you in French, Dutch, German, English or Spanish. The team is young, smiling and absolutely charming. Special mention goes to Amandine, a pearl of kindness and professionalism.
There are 48 rooms, all very comfortably furnished: palatial beds, contemporary furniture, colorful wallpaper (we love it!), wooden shutters and soft carpets. The beds are fitted with 100% cotton sheets from a Belgian brand that's so good to wake up to in the morning. The bathroom is stocked with Clarins welcome products.
Some rooms open directly onto a pretty tree-lined courtyard with a life-size chess set, while others overlook Rue Veydt. Tip: ask for a room overlooking the rear courtyard, as these are the quietest and most pleasant.
On the first floor, you can enjoy a game of billiards, a puzzle or a glass of wine by the fire. Croissants and pains au chocolat are available. You can make your own cappuccino to take away, free of charge. There's also a mini-bar with a selection of artisanal Belgian beers, fine wines by the glass and some light snacks.
Every morning, enjoy a delicious optional breakfast featuring fresh, organic and often Belgian produce. The buffet is served on the bright veranda. On the menu: Belgian specialties, waffles, Liège syrup, chocolate vermicelli, Belgian granola from GR'EAT, bacon, eggs, jams from Pipaillon, pancakes, French toast and lots of other goodies.
Le Made in Louise is quietly located in the Châtelain district of Brussels, just a few minutes from Avenue Louise and the center of Brussels. Private parking is available for €20 a day, subject to availability. Alternatively, go to the Indigo public parking lot 2 minutes away. You can also park in the surrounding streets. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant? 65 Degrees on Avenue Louise!
PS: if le Made in Louise is full, we recommend the more central Made in Catherine. It's her little sister, a little more rock'n roll. It's the same team and the same attention to detail.
