The Domaine du Vivier des Cresses is a stunning natural estate located just 5 minutes from Bastogne, in the Belgian Ardennes. No fewer than three lodges await you right on the water’s edge, in a setting that’s truly unique in Belgium. Some lodges feature a Nordic hot tub on the outdoor terrace. An enchanting estate
Once there, you enter the estate via a long, tree-lined avenue. Gradually, the noise of the road fades away, replaced by birdsong and the murmur of water...
With its two ponds, orchard, and wooded paths, the place is so peaceful and romantic.
Biodiversity reigns supreme here. Many varieties of fruit trees grow here and there. A forest garden is being developed to allow plants to interact and draw on nature’s bounty according to their needs.
Check-in is between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Parking is available right next to the lodges.

Depending on the lodge you choose, you’ll have access to the following amenities: a double bed, a bathroom with a shower, a hair dryer, towels, bathrobes, a sitting area with a wood-burning stove, a sofa, a table and chairs, and a kitchen equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, freezer, dishes, a coffee maker, a kettle, a toaster, an electric heater, and Wi-Fi.
In the Daim collection, the mattress and pillows are from Greensleep, the comforter is from Lanado, and the bed and bath linens are from Kalani. These are three Belgian brands. The bedding is breathable, adapts to your body shape, and provides optimal support.
Each lodge features large windows offering breathtaking views of the ponds and the surrounding nature. A terrace with two rocking chairs is at your disposal.
The best for last: if you choose the Daim or the Canard, a hot tub awaits you on the terrace.
Dining options
Breakfast is an optional add-on when you book and costs €38 for two people. On the menu: artisanal bread, waffles, jam, Nocciolata, yogurt, fruit juice, hard cheese, and butter.
By the way, the estate makes its own apple juice. Feel free to take a bottle home with you.
Tea and coffee are available in the lodge’s kitchen. By the way, we love the tableware created by a passionate ceramicist just a few miles from here. She made all the tableware for the Daim and the two mugs in the Canard and the Libellule. Take a look at this picture to get an idea.
For your meals, the estate offers regional platters and gourmet baskets. The team has chosen to work with local partners who share the same values:
- Pure Bastogne for breakfast and brunch
- La Boucherie Husquet for cheese, charcuterie, prepared foods, and BBQ kits
- Epicurianne for a three-course bistronomic menu
- Le Poirier du Loup for a natural, socially conscious Belgian sparkling wine
Reservations are required; please be sure to specify your choice when booking.
Are you celebrating a special occasion? You can add a "Love Package" to your reservation. This includes: bottles of sparkling wine, chocolate from Pierre Plas, candles, fabric rose petals, and romantic decorations.
A wild, natural setting
The Domaine du Vivier des Cresses is nestled in a picturesque natural setting, just outside Bastogne, near the Luxembourg border.
You can go fishing (catch-and-release) during your stay at no extra charge. Fishing boats and life jackets are available. There are many species to catch, including trout, perch, carp, pike, and roach. Optional introductory lessons on various fishing techniques are available.
Board games are available to borrow at the front desk if you’d like to unwind completely. There are also outdoor activities available, including molky, pétanque, badminton, snowshoeing, and kayaking.
You’re just a 25-minute drive from Lake Haute-Sûre, one of the region’s most beautiful natural sites. Its clear waters, nestled in a dense forest, give it the feel of a remote, untouched corner of the world. Stroll along the shores, rent a kayak to explore the tranquil coves, or take a boat tour.
