Ciméo is a unique concept launched in November 2023 and located in Villers-le-Temple, in the Liège region of Belgium. Discover 3 luxury lodges nestled in the canopy. These are hidden by trees and erected on a wooded hillside with a breathtaking view over the valley. The style is inspired by contemporary Californian homes. We had the opportunity to spend a night here and it was fantastic. Here's what we loved: the quality of the materials used, which you wouldn't necessarily guess from the photos, the spectacular view, the many walks in the area and the feeling of being away from it all. We had a beer with the owner.

The minimum stay at Cimeo is 1 night on weekdays and 2 nights at weekends. Check-in is from 4pm. Check-out is possible until 11am on weekdays and... 3pm on Sundays. We love it!

Cimeo is the childhood dream of 2 nature-loving neighbors who, as children, already dreamed of building tree houses: Thomas and Pierre. This crazy project, the fruit of 2 years' work, embodies the culmination of a vision: to offer a unique experience in Belgium and a feeling of total disconnection at the top of the world.

There is a private parking lot on site, where you can leave your car. The climb up to the huts is an adventure in itself. You climb 25 meters up a staircase integrated into the landscape. The staircase is illuminated at night. Our advice: don't bring a large suitcase, as the climb lasts for several minutes. We recommend taking a small bag or even a backpack.

On the estate, it's not uncommon to spot squirrels, deer or even a kingfisher near the nearby stream.

There are 3 perched cabins: Wood, Black and White. They are perfectly spaced and each retains its own privacy. We tested White, but were also able to visit the other 2. Each has its own advantages: Wood offers the most open view, Black has the largest terrace, while White is the furthest away and therefore the most intimate. Rest assured: all 3 cabins are very similar, and all cost the same.

Depending on the cabin you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: queen-size bed from Jeebee in Verviers (really perfect), private bathroom with shower, outdoor bathtub, Phytomer welcome products, fully-equipped kitchen, basic ingredients for cooking, eco-friendly coffee machine, triple glazing and very pleasant temperatures all year round. Bed linen and towels are provided. There is no wifi.

The large picture windows offer a breathtaking view of the forest and allow you to enjoy the light gently filtered through the trees. Here's a video view (in the White cabin) of the bedroom. Every detail, from the wooden table to the stones in the grounds, comes from the hands of local artisans.

There's one aspect you can't really guess from the photos: the interior looks like a real hotel suite and the materials are top-of-the-line. A few examples: the electronic lock with code, the blinds from Somfy that can all open and close at the same time or the designer furniture from the Belgian brand Bandi.

A little anecdote: the ironworker of the project, who made the metal structure of the foundations, lives just down the street. He participated in the construction of the Princess Elisabeth Polar Station in Antarctica.

The Ciméo huts are located in the village of Villers le Temple, in the Condroz region of Belgium. On the night of our getaway, we had a burger at Huggy's Bar in Nandrin. Very well! Villers-le-Temple is a village rich in history and tradition, surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes. There are many artisans, a market gardener, a microbrewery, a farm and a local market.
