Our experience
We had the chance to spend a very pleasant night here, despite some initial apprehension. It’s a real success.
What we liked best:
- The stunning view from the room
- The truly incredible bedding
- The waterfront terrace
- The impressive soundproofing throughout the building
- The very kind and pleasant staff
- The restaurant (Stoke), which lives up to all its promises (though a bit pricey)
- The inspired playlist at the restaurant
- Check-out at noon
Tip: If you can afford it, be sure to book a room with a view of the lake and the golf course. In the comments section, specify that you’d like a room on the highest floor possible, as far away from the elevator as possible, and in a corner.
That's how we ended up with Room 310, and it was just perfect.
On-site arrival
When you arrive, you can park your car in the underground parking garage, which has direct access to the lobby.
The setting is undoubtedly the highlight of this place. As soon as you arrive, you’re greeted by a very soothing atmosphere that immediately invites you to relax. Large floor-to-ceiling windows, a waterfront terrace, and a beautiful view of the golf course.
The estate on which the hotel stands has a royal history. It is the former Sterrebeek Racetrack, which opened in the late 19th century. For decades, it was the gathering place for Belgian high society to watch horse races. Today, the horses have given way to golfers.
The hotel is, in fact, literally situated on The National Golf Brussels, an 18-hole course. It is considered one of the most technically challenging courses in Belgium.
Life in the hotel
The hotel's restaurant, The Stoke, is based on a specific culinary philosophy: cooking over an open flame and using premium charcoal. The kitchen is open so that the spectacle of the fire is at the heart of the experience.
We tried it out and had a wonderful meal. The staff are friendly, pleasant, and very professional. Some of them don't speak French very well, but that's really just a minor detail.
Tip: Ask for a table by the window, and try to arrive around opening time so you can choose your table.
In the morning, they serve a delicious breakfast. It’s very substantial. Be sure to try the chia pudding! If the weather is nice, we recommend taking your coffee out to the outdoor terrace by the water.
The hotel does not yet have a spa (it will open soon), but it is directly connected to the David Lloyd Club, one of the most exclusive fitness clubs in Europe. You have access to the facilities (heated pool, tennis, padel) normally reserved for full members who pay high annual dues.
Rooms and Suites
The hotel features 150 rooms and suites divided into several categories based on their size, amenities, and—most importantly—the view: of the lake or the garden. Here are our favorites:
1 • Lake View Terrace Collection Room • Photo • Photo
2 • Premium Terrace Room • Photo • Photo
3 • Superior Lake View Terrace Room • Photo • Photo
4 • Junior Suite • Photo • Photo
5 • Premium Suite • Photo • Photo
Depending on the room you choose, you’ll enjoy the following amenities: a bedroom with a large double bed, a bathroom with a bathtub and/or a rain shower, complimentary toiletries, a terrace with a view of the garden or the lake, a living room with a Smart TV, a minibar, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi.
Very close to Brussels
The Radisson is located in an exceptionally lush setting, just outside Brussels, Belgium. Zaventem Airport is only a 15-minute drive away, but rest assured: planes do not fly over the area.
The Bois de la Cambre, not far away, is undoubtedly Belgium’s most beautiful wooded park. We love taking walks there on the weekends. Designed in the English style, it feels like a real forest. The most beautiful part of the park is the lake surrounding Chalet Robinson, a magnificent rustic restaurant (it has a bit of a Canadian feel to it) that’s accessible only by boat.
Yes, some rooms feature a beautiful freestanding bathtub or a traditional bathtub.
There are 150 elegant rooms and suites.
No, breakfast is optional. And it's definitely worth it.
Check-in starts at 3 p.m., and you can check out as late as noon... We love it because usually it's 11 a.m.
Rates start at around €167 per night for two people.
Yes, parking is available in the parking garage beneath the hotel.
Yes. The hotel's restaurant, The Stoke, is based on a specific culinary philosophy: cooking over an open flame and using premium charcoal. The kitchen is open so that the spectacle of the fire is at the heart of the experience, evoking the traditions of rustic grilling but in an ultra-modern setting.
