Here are a few suggestions for accommodations and hotels if you're planning a romantic trip to these three cities

Bruges is the most romantic, Ghent the liveliest, and Brussels the most cosmopolitan. For a first trip to Belgium as a couple, we really like to combine all three: they’re very different and close enough together to avoid having to constantly change accommodations.
Ghent is an excellent base thanks to its location between Brussels and Bruges. Brussels is also a great option, especially if you’re arriving in Belgium by train or plane. At Let’s Go My Love, we recommend choosing a nice, centrally located place to stay and then exploring from there to keep your trip simple.
Yes, definitely. Bruges becomes even more romantic once the day-trippers have left. Staying overnight lets you enjoy the canals and narrow streets early in the morning or in the evening, when the atmosphere is much calmer. For a first getaway to Belgium, this is a night we often recommend.
Choose Brussels for its museums, restaurants, and the energy of a major capital city. Ghent is more compact and has an immediate charm with its waterfront, historic facades, and narrow streets. For a couple who likes to wander around without too much planning, we have a soft spot for Ghent.
No, the train is generally much more convenient for traveling between the three cities. You avoid having to find parking and arrive right near the city centers. You might want to save the car for the second part of the trip if you’d like to explore some unique or hard-to-find accommodations in the Belgian countryside.
In all three cities, look for a place with character: a historic house, a boutique hotel, a beautiful bathtub, or a room with a view. During our visits for *Let's Go My Love*, we pay close attention to the location and the atmosphere. For two people, a small, memorable place is often better than a large, impersonal hotel.
