Fleur de Ville is a 4* hotel nestled in an exceptional historic building in the heart of Brussels, just 5 minutes from the Grand Place. It opened in June 2024. What can we say? For us, this is one of Belgium's most captivating hotels. Here, history meets style, offering an enchanting escape from the hustle and bustle of Brussels.
We advise you to book your stay at Fleur de Ville via Booking.com, which often offers free cancellation. Send us a message on Instagram if you go, it would make us super happy.
Prices start at around €190 per night for 2 people, but often exceed €300 on Fridays and Saturdays. This is an introductory price, which is sure to rise in 2025 and 2026. If you want to discover the hotel, don't wait too long and maybe try to book on a Sunday evening, which is often the cheapest day.
We had the opportunity to spend a night here and the experience exceeded our expectations. What we liked best: the 20's style, the atmosphere, the location, the quality of the materials, the finely crafted lighting, the beautiful objects and the constant feeling of being in a movie in which you can guess at a deep mystery without really understanding what's going on.
As soon as you arrive in front of the dark, watermarked gate (video on site), the magic happens, especially at night. All you want to do is go inside. In the 19th century, the Victorian-style building housed a major bank, which explains the unique charm of the rooms, statues and ceilings. Admire, for example, the mosaic floor in the prestigious entrance hall (video on site). An amber floral fragrance wafts through the corridors...
There are 51 rooms and suites, including 2 rooms with disabled access. Each room category is named after a flower: Bluebell, Lily or Iris, the emblem of Brussels. The suites pay tribute to Paul Hankar, Alfred Chambon and Henry Beyaert, three architects who have made a significant contribution to the city's urban fabric.
We stayed in room Deluxe 312 (Iris) on the 3rd floor and it was very nice. Special mention for the tiled bathroom and gold light switches. There are some lovely books to browse through, including one on alchemy and mysticism whose engravings suggest that the hotel holds a secret. There's also this enigmatic phrase on the notepad: we entrust you with the task of connecting the clues. Which clues?
Depending on the room you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: king-size bed with unrivalled comfort, comfortable headboard, private bathroom with walk-in shower or free-standing bathtub, Aesop welcome products (they smell so good!), Smart TV, tablet, slippers, minibar, free tea and coffee, air conditioning and ultra-fast wifi connection.
Here are a few tips for booking:
1. Accompany your reservation with a polite and pleasant comment about your preferences.
2. Specify that you do not want a room on the street side or on the ground floor (these are the noisiest rooms).
3. Ask for a room at the back, on the 3rd or 4th floor, if possible away from the elevator (these are the quietest rooms).
4. If you're celebrating a special occasion, don't hesitate to mention it, and the team may give you a little welcome.
5. When booking, you can ask for a bouquet of flowers to be delivered to your room. The hotel works with one of the best florists in town. Just specify your budget and the hotel will take care of the rest.
Every morning, a top-quality breakfast is served in the dining room on the 2nd floor for €32 per person. On the menu: a superb sweet and savory buffet and a dozen à la carte dishes: omelette, French toast, avocado toast or Belgian waffle with bacon and poached egg. Everything is fresh and well prepared. The Nespresso coffee is extra. A real favorite!
Good to know: the hotel has a comfortable lounge for relaxing, a bar, a restaurant (closed on Sundays and Mondays) and a gym.
Fleur de Ville is located in the heart of Brussels, 1 minute from the Théâtre de la Monnaie and 7 minutes from the Grand Place. The street is generally very quiet, and there's plenty to do in the area. A private parking lot is located beneath the property, accessible with a card provided at reception. The charge for 24 hours' parking is €35.
There are plenty of restaurants in the area, but many are very touristy and not very interesting. You have to choose carefully, as the experience is uneven for the same price. We know the area very well and we also asked the friendly receptionist for her recommendations. Here are the 4 addresses we recommend: La Bonne Chère, Dolce Amaro, Selecto and Pasta Divina.
The Grand Place is world-renowned for its ornamental wealth. It is home to the houses of the 17th-century guilds, the Hôtel de Ville and the Maison du Roi. It's also an open-air poetry book. Numerous Latin poems adorn the facades. These are elegiac poems written by a brilliant Latin poet of the time: Petrus van der Borcht.
