We'd wanted to stay here for several years and it's been a fantastic stay. It's a great choice for a romantic weekend in the Ardennes, even when the weather is rainy.

On site, the welcome is impeccable. The team is friendly (special mention to Évelyne!) and really takes the time to listen: you never feel like a number. Communication is possible in French, Dutch or English.

The hotel is dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome, except in certain suites. Please check when booking. A welcome pack with treats is specially prepared for them. Perhaps you'll have the chance to meet Frisko, the Florentin's mascot.

Manager Stéphanie instills a superb energy throughout the hotel. Le Florentin is a family affair dating back to the early 20th century, and you can really feel it in the way things are done.

There are 26 elegant rooms, including 5 with whirlpool baths. We visited almost all of them. Tip: when booking, ask for a room at the back, as these are the quietest. Our favorite suite, soberly named "La Suite", is the most romantic.

Depending on the room you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: top-of-the-range king-size bed, private bathroom with shower and/or whirlpool bath, oak parquet flooring, air conditioning, Smart TV, mini-bar, Nuxe welcome products, quality soundproofing, private terrace and gas fire.

If you opt for a room with a whirlpool bath, you'll also have the added bonus of several wellness capsules (a bit like Nespresso capsules) to clip into your shower to diffuse essential oils. It's always our morning delight when a hotel offers these capsules...

Feeling hungry? Come and enjoy a truly gastronomic experience in our magnificent, warmly-colored restaurant. Chef Philippe Duret spent 20 years of his life in several renowned restaurants (including one Michelin-starred restaurant) before arriving at Le Florentin. Try the croquettes with Orval cheese, the region's most typical dish. It's sure to wake up your taste buds!

In the evening, we love to relax with a drink in the piano bar, with its lounge area, subdued atmosphere, cosy armchairs, open fire and lacquered black piano. A pianist plays on Friday and Saturday evenings, adding an extra touch of romance.

During the day, a small wellness center with 3 rooms is at your disposal:

1. Infrared sauna for 2 with relaxing music
2. A small room with a hydromassage table on which you can relax while water jets run deliciously all over your body (very nice!).
3. A small fitness area to keep you in shape

Le Florentin is located in southern Belgium, just a few minutes from the French border. Free, secure parking is available at the rear of the hotel. Don't miss the church just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Right behind it, you'll find an exceptional panorama of the Semois valley, neighboring villages and the Ardennes forest.

If you have a little time, Orval Abbey, 10 minutes away, is also well worth a visit. The ruins of the former Cistercian abbey are splendid. The calm invites meditation. Beer and cheese in the brewery!
