We had the opportunity to visit the place on a beautiful autumn day. Our first thought was: this place is underrated. It's rustic, wild, sometimes a little raw, but beautiful and authentic. It's the perfect destination if you want to spend an atypical night.

This place has a rich and fascinating history. It was born of the passion of 2 diplomatic brothers: Auguste and Constant. They were among the principal advisors to Belgian King Leopold II. Year after year, they acquired woods, meadows and natural ponds. Today, it's a magnificent estate with a large garden, stables and a wide range of activities.

Prices start at €100 per night, with a minimum of 2 nights. It's up to you: either someone welcomes you, or you enter the room on your own. Just let us know what you want when you book.

The bedroom is a cosy, characterful place hors du temps. It's a stone barn, just like the old days! You'll enjoy every comfort: queen-size bed, private bathroom, antique bathtub, private kitchen with antique wood-burning stove, wrought-iron staircase leading to the bedroom, wood-burning stove on winter nights, theatrical decor, pallet furniture, woven armchairs and period chandelier.

In the evening, you can book an optional 3-course menu for €90 for 2 people, drinks included. This includes everything you need to prepare a delicious barbecue on your terrace.

Something rather original: you can bring your own horse for €25 a night. The horse then has its own stall in which to spend the night.

La Chambre aux Bois is located in Libramont-Chevigny, in the Province of Luxembourg, Belgium. You're between Dinant and Bastogne. There are many beautiful walks starting from the estate - just ask Véronique for the best ones. Nearby, you can spend a pleasant afternoon at the Parc à gibier Saint-Hubert, about 15 minutes away by car. For evening dining, we warmly recommend Le Tchesté in Neufchâteau or Le Triskell in Libramont.
