Our stay
We were very lucky to be able to visit the house and have been in constant contact with Ine (the owner) on Instagram ever since. What we liked best: the exceptional location on the edge of a wood, the quality of the equipment and the bathtub on the terrace.
Ine works in set design for the cinema. Building the cabin, finishing the interior and even some of the furniture and decoration: she did it all with her husband!
The house
The interior is bathed in light, thanks to large bay windows offering breathtaking forest views. You'll enjoy every comfort: king-size bed, living room with comfortable quilted sofas, Norwegian wood-burning stove, air conditioning, fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, bathroom with walk-in shower and underfloor heating.
There's no wifi or TV. As Ine says, "Offline is the new luxury", and it's so true.
The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook up a storm. You can take a few provisions with you. It is also possible to order a breakfast box from a partner caterer. You will receive the link to place your order in the week before your stay.
Terrace with bath
Enjoy a romantic meal on the sunny terrace. Admire the surrounding forest. There's a picnic table, a brazier and 2 deckchairs. The icing on the cake: an outdoor bathtub for the ultimate moment of relaxation, with the sound of birds in the background. Paradise...
Location
Loof is located in an idyllic setting, on the edge of forest and fields in the Hesbaye region. Here's a nice aerial view to give you an idea. To get there, you have to drive the last 2 km on an unpaved road. The surrounding area is perfect for walking or cycling. You're 15 min by car from Tongeren, Belgium's oldest city, 25 min from Hasselt and 35 min from Maastricht.
