AquaLodge is a fantastic, unusual 3* hotel located in the Molignée valley, south of Namur in Wallonia, Belgium. It's a natural estate with 8 luxurious chalets built around a private pond. Our experience

We have visited AquaLodge on 2 occasions and have been lucky enough to spend the night each time. It's always a particularly pleasant experience. Our lodge was perfectly clean, well located and even better than on the photos. The management is very professional and the online reviews are unanimous.

You arrive on site via a small country road. There is a private parking lot. The team (often Elien) is on hand every day from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm to welcome you and show you around your chalet. Communication is fluent in French, Dutch (Elien is a Dutch speaker!) and English. If you arrive later, there's a secure box so you can enter your chalet on your own.

When you reach your chalet, you'll discover a large natural pond around which 8 stilted lodges have been built. Each lodge has its own unique name. The cottages are well separated, and your privacy is perfectly preserved. The last lodge, a roulotte, is set back a little on dry land.

Facilities available to you

Apart from the trailer, the lodges are generally very similar. So don't worry too much when choosing. The main difference is whether there is a shower or a bathtub. It depends on your preference.

Depending on your choice, you'll enjoy the following amenities: king-size bed, comfortable armchairs, toilet, small private kitchen, wooden shower or bathtub, TV, wifi and a glass floor that lets you see the water and the fish. Wood and fur are used throughout, creating a warm, cocooning atmosphere.

All cottages have an outdoor terrace facing the sunset, except for Frisson d'Eau, which faces the sunrise. It's perfect for enjoying an aperitif or breakfast in the morning with the calm of the water and the birds singing. No mosquitoes can get inside your cottage because they are repelled by other insects that live on the pond.

Don't fill the tub too much, as the hot water supply is limited to about 100 liters—which is already enough to reach a good depth. But during our stay, we made the mistake of filling the tub almost to the brim (without keeping an eye on it), and as a result, the water turned cold after a while.

A cozy spot when it rains

When it rains or snows, the atmosphere in the lodge is very pleasant. All lodges have a wood-burning stove with everything you need to start a fire: kindling, firelighters and logs. There are also plaids, umbrellas, a Dyson electric heater, an electric kettle with tea provided, a coffee machine with coffee provided and a TV with Proximus TV provided and Netflix via your own subscription.

- Reine Libellule" breakfast with, in addition to the Prince de l'Étang, eggs, bacon, dream pastries and even... bubbles! (€50 for 2 people)
- Aperitif basket with delicious local produce, good local beers and delicious Maredsous cheese (24€ for 2 people)
- Festin des Lucioles" meal tray with several hot and cold culinary creations, such as smoked salmon or foie gras. A dessert is also included (70€ for 2 people).
- Selection of wines and bubbles in your minibar: take what you like and pay as you go.
- Massage session: 30 min or 60 min massage directly in your chalet, only 1 person at a time, not possible in the roulotte, to be booked at least 48 hours in advance (from 75€)

Just a stone's throw from Maredsous Abbey

AquaLodge is located in the small village of Ermeton-sur-Biert in the province of Namur in Belgium. The region offers a wealth of activities and impressive places to visit. You can rent a bike to go for a ride.

We recommend visiting Maredsous Abbey, just a 10-minute drive away. It is the second most visited place in Wallonia after Pairi Daiza. An exceptional setting, beautiful terrace, and great serenity. Excellent beer and cheese!
