Discovering the Property
The small cottage-style house is located on a large private property that you reach by taking a small dirt path lined with flowers and lush green bushes in the warmer months. Originally, the building was a barn; today, it’s a cozy retreat.
The owner lives about 100 meters away, but please note that the property is completely private. It has a separate entrance, and you can check in on your own.
The Alma Chalet
Inside, the first thing you’ll notice is a spacious living area with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, and a sitting area in front of the fireplace. The atmosphere is warm, and the decor blends modern and traditional styles. The bathroom, complete with a shower, complimentary toiletries, and towels, is also located on this floor…
Upstairs, the bedroom is a cozy little nook under the roof. Please note that the staircase is very narrow, so be careful, especially if you have to use it at night.
Outside, there are two terraces. The first is at the back, faces south, and is accessible from the bedroom. Here, you can enjoy delicious barbecues and admire the meadow. Everything you need is provided. The second terrace is at the front of the house and is accessible from the living room. That’s where the hot tub is located, facing the forest.
Your meal options
For breakfast, we recommend the artisanal bakery in Fraipont, run by Sophie and Yano, less than a 10-minute drive away. All the bread is made with local flours.
Otherwise, we love Coucou Beaufays, just a 6-minute drive away. It’s a super lively brunch spot that serves delicious avocado toast, colorful salads, and indulgent pancakes. Not to mention the drinks: chai latte, iced matcha, detox juices...
Finally, if you're looking for a gourmet restaurant to enjoy a romantic dinner for two, head to L'Air de Rien. The chef offers a 4- or 5-course menu that changes with the seasons and his creative inspiration. A vegetarian option is available.
Between the Woods and the Meadow
Alma is located on a vast, lush private estate, not far from the Liège-Gomzé Golf Club in Sprimont.
The Remouchamps Caves are a 10-minute drive away. Explore the spacious galleries, beautifully adorned by nature, all the way to that legendary chamber discovered in 1912: the Cathedral, which stands 40 meters tall. But the most memorable part of the tour is the boat ride back along the underground river. It’s an extraordinary experience and highly recommended!
A little further on, we had the chance to explore the Charmille du Haut Marêt, and we absolutely fell in love with it. This walking trail, about 600 meters long, is covered with branches that form a veritable canopy of foliage. The place is beautiful in every season, and it’s also the longest walk of its kind in Europe.
