Alfred Hotels Paris Gare du Nord is a 3-star hotel located in the heart of Paris, in the 10th arrondissement, a 5-minute walk from the Gare du Nord. We fell in love with the place, especially because of the interior design, the lovely staff, and the incredibly comfortable beds.

We chose this place during a trip to Paris because we wanted more affordable hotels on Let's Go My Love. Mission accomplished.

Good to know: There's a small, very cozy lounge near the front desk. There are real postcards on the shelf. It's very nostalgic.

The rooms

There are only 29 rooms, some of which are on higher floors and offer a view of the Eiffel Tower. Decorated primarily with natural materials and soft colors, they have a bit of a vacation home feel.

During our stay, we were assigned Room 102. It was tiny (and a little too close to the elevator), but perfectly soundproofed and really nice. A real cozy little nest.

Tip: When you make your reservation, ask for a room as high up as possible and as far away from the elevator as possible—preferably with a view of the Eiffel Tower. It’s not guaranteed, but it doesn’t cost anything to ask.

The bedding deserves a gold medal. We slept incredibly well—sweet dreams—and woke up the next morning full of energy. It’s all thanks to Matelas Français: the Gaspard mattress, the César mattress topper, the Pénélope comforter, the Paulin & Pablo pillows, and sheets from La Serviette de Paris.

The wooden furniture in the bedroom was designed and crafted by Atelier Veneer. The blackout curtains were made by VA Décoration.

Location

The hotel is located 200 meters from Gare du Nord. Once you exit the station, it’s just a 3-minute walk to the hotel. It’s the ideal stopover for travelers arriving on the Eurostar, Thalys, or TGV.

Are you landing at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport? Take the RER B toward Paris and get off at the Gare du Nord station. The trip takes about 35 minutes.

The hotel offers a decent breakfast, but it's a bit pricey. Instead, we recommend walking 5 minutes to Léandrés, a very cozy little Colombian café. You absolutely must try the carrot cake, the cheesy arepa, or just a cappuccino. Wow. Everything is homemade.

With its cliffs, waterfall, and lake overlooked by the romantic Temple of the Sibyl, Buttes-Chaumont Park (a 20-minute metro ride away) offers one of the most exotic settings in Paris. It features numerous winding trails and hidden corners.
