Le Too Hôtel is a 4* hotel located more than 100 meters above sea level, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, France. Rooms offer spectacular views of Paris, the Seine, the Eiffel Tower, the Sacré-Coeur and all the major monuments. As far as we know, this is the only hotel in Paris to be housed in a skyscraper. Get ready for take-off.
We advise you to book your stay at Too Hôtel via Booking.com, which often offers free cancellation. Send us a message on Instagram if you go, it would make us super happy.
We had the opportunity to visit the hotel and eat at the Too Restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime. What we liked best: the total change of scenery, the breathtaking view, the energetic interior design and the top-quality cuisine in the restaurant, despite the high price.
The hotel is located between the 17th and 25th floors of one of the 2 Duo towers in the Bercy district. French designer Philippe Starck created the interior architecture, creating a stimulating atmosphere of subdued light, raw concrete and warm, intense hues.
A few words from Starck:"It's the story of a castle suspended above Paris, no longer really on Earth, a place where anything can happen. Because it's levitating, it has a euphoric effect; inside, you're more beautiful, more in love, more creative (...) It flies over big cities. Right now, it's said to be in Paris. But at the end of the evening, you can see Tokyo, Los Angeles or other major world cities."
There are 139 rooms, including 22 suites. There are 3 possible views: the Paris skyline, the Eiffel Tower or the Seine. You can admire the view from the bedroom or the bathroom. The windowsill is very wide, so you can really sit back and admire the view. Binoculars are at your disposal.
Depending on the room you choose, you will have the following amenities: queen or king size bed, private bathroom with shower and/or bathtub as in room 2108, home automation control of blinds and lights, television, minibar and wifi.
In the morning, breakfast is served from 7am to 10am at the TOO Restaurant. Buffet formula with good produce and a breathtaking view of Paris. On Sundays, brunch is served from 11:30am. On the menu: chicken kebabs, sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, smoked salmon, charcuterie, cheeses, fresh bread from Benoît Castel, lemon meringue pie, cakes, fresh fruit juices and unlimited hot drinks.
On the 17th floor of the hotel, come and relax with your loved ones in the spa after a long day in the French capital. Treatments and messages can be booked in advance. There's also a cedar sauna, a gym and an incredible outdoor Jacuzzi on a planted terrace overlooking the sunrise over the Seine.
For lunch and dinner, Chef Benjamin Six and his team welcome you to TOO Restaurant for a heavenly break. In this glass cube 100 meters high, enjoy an inspired, contemporary and cosmopolitan world cuisine. The desserts have been entrusted to the pastry chef Pierre Hermé. Don't miss the Suzette cheesecake: crispy crumble, caramel cheesecake and orange marmalade.
A few restaurant tips:
1. Specify that you're celebrating a special occasion and ask for a quiet table overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The best table (I've posted the photo) is the one at the far left of the restaurant, in the corner. It's the most intimate. The whole of Paris is right in front of you.
2. We recommend you go in the evening, as it's even more impressive.
3. Book as soon as it opens: 12pm at lunchtime and 7pm in the evening.
4. We advise against last-minute reservations on a Friday or Saturday evening, as you risk getting a table close to the entrance (the worst ones) or with no particular view.
5. If possible, book from Sunday to Thursday, when the restaurant is quieter.
6. Reservations open 3 weeks in advance.
7. For a couple's lunch with 2 glasses of champagne, 2 glasses of wine, 2 main courses, 2 desserts and 2 coffees, we paid around €200, which seemed excessive. But we don't regret it at all.
At the end of the evening, go to the TOO TacTac Skybar on the top floor to discover the highest rooftop in Paris. You can taste a cuisine with flavors from elsewhere or simply sip a cocktail to the rhythm of live concerts, DJ sets and thematic evenings. Unreal atmosphere!
The hotel is located in the very east of Paris, in the district of Bercy, nicknamed Downtown Paris. There are many points of interest in the area such as the Jardin des Plantes, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France or the Bois de Vincennes. The Austerlitz train station is 20 minutes away by metro. And if you want to reach the historical heart of Paris, the Louvre Museum is only 30 min away by metro, via line 14.
