🛁 Our experience

We had the opportunity to visit Basile & Babouch to take some photos. What we liked best: a golden location, absolute silence, the splendid grounds all around and the bathtub overlooking nature.

☀️ Arrival on site

On the day of booking, you can choose whether you would like to arrive on your own or be greeted in person by Marie-Noëlle. She's so friendly and charming! Private parking is available right next to your cottage, or a little further away, near the owner's house.

Good to know: dogs are not allowed on site, in order to respect the surrounding wildlife.

Marie-Noëlle is a sunny, ultra-smiling interior decorator. Look at this photo with her husband. She taught oil painting for 20 years and has traveled extensively throughout her life. She is particularly sensitive to light. She welcomes her guests with genuine kindness, always available but never intrusive.

🌾 The private terrace

Outside, there's a private west-facing terrace, perfect for enjoying the soleil couchant. There are 2 deckchairs, a barbecue and a small table for your meals. The view from the terrace is perfect. All around you: meadows and trees as far as the eye can see. You'll feel right at home.

🥐 Breakfast options

Breakfast is not provided on site, but the kitchen is well equipped. We recommend bringing your own pastries to heat up in the oven, for example.

There's also the Pâtisserie Gerlache, less than 10 minutes away by car, offering excellent fresh bread and delicious croissants. A great way to start the day. In the evening, it's easy to arrange for delivery on site.

🍝 A restaurant nearby

Looking for a quality restaurant in the area? We highly recommend Auberge du Château de Leignon, a superb gourmet restaurant run by Michelin-starred chef Isabelle Arpin, just a few minutes' drive away. Delicate, generous cuisine, full of flavor, such as the butternut squash ravioli with Parmesan, Cantabrian anchovies, and black olive powder. Delicious!

🌳 In the heart of the Belgian Condroz region

Basile & Babouch is located in the village of Conneux, just 40 minutes from Namur and 1h15 from Brussels. The hilly region is ideal for hiking. The Furfooz nature reserve offers a superb route along the Lesse, with caves, Roman ruins and panoramic cliff views. Just a few kilometers away, the Domaine de Chevetogne forest invites you to take long walks under its tall trees.
