Ciasa Salares is a family-run 4-star hotel with rustic charm, nestled in San Cassiano, in the heart of Alta Badia, in the heart of the Dolomites. We love everything about it: the tastefully designed interior, the spectacular view of the surrounding mountains, the very extensive breakfast, and the absolutely charming spa.

Life in the hotel
Ciasa Salares is a family story that dates back to 1964. At that time, it was Hilda and Pauli—the grandparents of your current hosts—who created this little piece of paradise nestled among the mountains.
Today, the third generation of the family—Jan and Sara—welcomes you with a rare sense of hospitality. You have to stay here to truly understand what the art of hospitality means. The staff is exceptionally kind, attentive, and helpful.
But that's not all...
During the day, there’s nothing quite like relaxing after a day of skiing by settling in near the large fireplace in the living room, a glass of South Tyrolean wine in hand, while admiring the falling snow or the lush alpine meadows through the large floor-to-ceiling windows.
Finally, the interior design also contributes to this sense of well-being: a subtle blend of the authenticity of aged wood and old mountain stone, with a touch of contemporary design. And there are plenty of bouquets of fresh flowers.

Depending on the room you choose, you’ll enjoy the following amenities: a cozy alpine-style interior with a king-size bed, a balcony with a view of the mountains, a bathroom with a freestanding tub and/or shower, a hair dryer, bathrobes, slippers, a sitting area, a Smart TV, a minibar, and Wi-Fi.
Opening your window in the morning to gaze at the limestone peaks ablaze with the sunrise (the famous “enrosadira” phenomenon) is an unforgettable sight.
The hotel is home to the legendary "Chocolate Room": a space entirely dedicated to cacao in all its forms. More than 30 varieties of chocolate bars and fondants await you. An ultra-indulgent sensory experience to share with your loved one.
Catering
The hotel offers several options throughout the day.
Early in the morning, the Sorí offers a breakfast buffet you won't want to miss: artisanal breads, a selection of cheeses and cold cuts, wild salmon, homemade jams, delicious pastries, freshly squeezed juices, eggs prepared to your liking, mountain honeys... A real treat.
Cocun is perhaps the hotel’s most unique restaurant. The wine cellar houses more than 24,000 bottles from around the world. It is partly carved directly into the rock of the Dolomites. Descending into it for a private tasting by candlelight is a rare pleasure.
Whether for lunch or dinner, the Infiní Eat on Beat terrace offers casual dishes to enjoy in the sunshine with music, overlooking a breathtaking panorama. Finally, for a romantic drink for two, head to the Bar Bonna Lüna.
The spa
After a long day in the great outdoors, the wellness area (included in the price) offers a delightful moment of relaxation! Highlights include a large indoor pool open all day, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a Nordic bath, indoor and outdoor saunas, and an infrared cabin.
Unlike some of the region's large hotel complexes, the wellness area at Ciasa Salares focuses above all on privacy, natural wood, the scent of Scots pine, and a cozy, relaxing atmosphere.
You can also enjoy treatments and massages using Vignoble Cosmetics products, which are based on the concept of vinotherapy.
Location
Ciasa Salares is located a few kilometers from San Cassiano (about a 15-minute walk) and from a major gondola that goes to Alta Badia, which is very convenient if you want to go skiing.
For hiking enthusiasts, scenic trails wind through enchanting landscapes, while those seeking a unique perspective can go on a horseback excursion and immerse themselves in the unspoiled beauty of the forests and meadows.
In winter, the Dolomiti Superski ski area offers access to more than 1,200 km of slopes, including the famous Sellaronda circuit. Activities include sledding, snowshoeing, ice climbing for the more adventurous, and Nordic walking through snow-covered forests.
