We stayed at the hotel and really liked the location, the self check-in and the breakfast. A special mention goes to the delicious homemade spread and the typically Belgian French toast!
The arrival on the spot is done in an autonomous way, via a code transmitted by e-mail or SMS by Sophie, the owner. She is often on site to welcome you, especially in the morning. Sophie is cheerful, very professional and above all absolutely passionate! The communication is done in French, English or with a bit of Dutch and Italian.
The hotel is located in a mansion dating from 1902 in the historical center. It used to be the well-known decoration store Emery and Cie. There are 4 rooms spread over 4 levels. Useful note: there is no elevator and the room on the 4th floor is slightly attic. The interior decoration was done with passion by Sophie and her partner Benoît. The style is minimalist, Scandinavian and very practical.
In the rooms, the furniture is by Julienrenaultobjects in collaboration with Atelier Dynamo. Depending on the room you choose, you will enjoy the following amenities: very comfortable queen size bedding, flat screen TV, parquet flooring, smartphone docking station, ingenious private bathroom, Italian shower, welcome products and a view of the center of Brussels. The rooms are very bright.
In the morning, enjoy your breakfast in the dining room. It is unique and different every day. Very rare in Brussels! On the menu: homemade jams, fresh bread, pastries, eggs, Bruges cheese, Liège syrup, French toast, granola, fresh orange juice, cappuccino in a nice design cup and homemade spread. A real delight. In the same room, there is also a large shelf with Belgian art books and comics.
Happy Guesthouse is located in the historic heart of Brussels. If you're on foot, the Grand Place is 5 min away, the Central Station is 6 min and the Théâtre de la Monnaie is 10 min. If you're looking for a good restaurant or an activity in Brussels, don't hesitate to strike up a conversation with Sophie. She knows the city like the back of her hand and will be able to share with you the best addresses where the locals go.
