L'Eauget is Belgium's 1st private gourmet restaurant with a single table. Prepare yourself for an exceptional evening or even a romantic weekend brunch. Everything is ready when you arrive, there's no waiter and you're alone in the restaurant. The place is located in Baelen, between Verviers and Eupen, in Belgium. When you book online, all you have to do is choose the day of arrival and the menus of your choice: meat, fish, vegetarian, Swiss fondue or the type of brunch you prefer. Don't forget to click on the "show more" link to choose your drinks. In the evening, each menu includes an appetizer, entrée, main course and dessert. Coffee and tea are complimentary.
If you'd like to prepare a surprise, don't hesitate to specify what you'd like when booking: early arrival to prepare and decorate the restaurant, choice of music on arrival (the sound quality is very good), etc. The owner, Hervé, is your playmate!
You can arrive at the restaurant at any time, from 6pm in the evening and 10:30am for brunch. The front door opens with a code received by email. Dogs are welcome. The place is 100% for you. Everything is ready when you arrive. We love the subdued atmosphere and the finish of the equipment. It's very well thought out.
During your meal, electricity is generated by a 3.7-meter-diameter bucket wheel right next to you. It dates back to the 19th century and has been completely renovated. A clever way to combine the unusual, luxury and ecology.
In the restaurant, you'll find the following equipment: a large table made from a complete redwood trunk by artist Kaspar Hamacher, crockery and decoration from Fika in Battice, chairs from Live Light, Smeg kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, wine cellar from Avintage, music speaker with tablet and vintage camera to capture the moment.
On your plate, inventive cuisine full of flavour! A few examples in the evening: fillet of marcassin with a grand veneur sauce, vegetable pickles, wild mushroom risotto or large macaroni au gratin with porcini mushrooms from our forests, aged parmesan, chanterelle mushrooms and truffle oil... Delicious!
On Mondays and Tuesdays from November to April only, indulge in Swiss fondue with a delicious blend of Vacherin Fribourgeois, Gruyère Mild and Gruyère Reserve.
Drinks include red wine, white wine, champagne, beers and digestifs. This is optional. Don't forget to select what you like at the time of booking. You can also bring your own bottles for a supplement of €10 per person.
On Saturdays and Sundays, you can opt for the brunch formula from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a special romantic moment. On the menu, depending on the type of brunch chosen: fresh goat's cheese handmade with edible flowers, assorted charcuterie and cheese, avocado toast (avocado, mint, feta, pomegranate, arugula), granola bowl, pancakes and a viennoiserie from Saperlipopette.
There's no on-site accommodation, but if you want to sleep nearby, we recommend theSleepWood Hotel in Eupen, with its attractive design. Affordable price. And if you fancy a walk, don't miss the Lac de la Gileppe with its large dam. Climb the tower free of charge to enjoy 360° views of the surrounding countryside!
