Dôme de Namur is a bubble located on the edge of the forest, about 10 minutes' drive from the town of Namur, Belgium. The bubble is entirely underfloor heated and is ideal for a romantic getaway in winter or summer. Our experience in the forest

We had the opportunity to spend a night here and it was simply extra. What we liked best: the natural setting around the bubble, the real privacy, the comfort of the bedding, the nearby heated pool and simply the aesthetics of the bubble. The project is very coherent and conceived with great passion.

The arrival

When you make your reservation, you can decide how you want to arrive on site: you can either enter independently at a time of your choosing (in which case you won't meet anyone), or you can be greeted by Catherine. Catherine is a psychologist by training, and we had a lovely chat with her during our visit. She speaks French, Dutch and English.

When you arrive on site, you can park your car on the gravel sidewalk in front of the house, along the main road. There's a path leading directly to the accommodation on the right of the house. You'll need to walk for a few minutes.

The Bubble Under the Stars

The Dôme de Namur measures 5 meters in diameter. It is fully glazed and sits on a 60m² terrace with underfloor heating in winter. Inside, there's a king-size bed, curtains for privacy, a dining table and 2 armchairs. Next to the bubble is a cabin with the following facilities: dry toilet, sink, electric boiler for hot water, fridge, drinks dispenser and microwave.

On the terrace, a brazier is at your disposal for a romantic evening by the fire. Logs are stored to the left of the dome. Magic moments with a glass of wine, the crackle of the fire, blankets and nature all around you!

Good to know: there's no shower attached to the accommodation, but you can use the spa's Italian shower free of charge if you book a session or if you stay at least 2 nights.

The private spa

During your stay, you can use the private spa located in an annex of Catherine's house, about 100 meters away from the bubble. The price is €40/hr if you only use the pool, and €80/hr if you add the sauna. We visited it and it's top-notch. It's only for you, by prior reservation and subject to availability.

The spa offers the following facilities: 30°C heated pool, Nordic sauna and walk-in shower. Towels are provided, so there's no need to bring your own. You can also order a duo massage. What we love: the high-quality sound system around the pool, allowing you to play your own music.

Breakfast and meals

In the early morning, breakfast is optional and comes in three forms: sweet, savory, or both! When you reserve breakfast, Catherine will discreetly leave it for you in the morning at the time of your choice on a counter at the back of the cabin.

For lunch or dinner, there are several options available: cheese platters from small producers and charcuterie, barbecue in summer, homemade soup in winter, raclette all year round, natural chips, lemonade, champagne, wine, and beer. Almost everything is homemade! If you have booked a meal for the evening, everything will be ready in the fridge when you arrive.

Uber Eats also delivers very easily; it's been tested and approved.

A wooded setting just 15 minutes from the city

Dôme de Namur is located on the edge of a forest, away from the center of Namur. We love the street, with its many beautiful properties. If you're looking for a restaurant in the area, we'd recommend the Chapelle Bethléem and its old stones! Best of all, there are walks starting from the dome. Don't hesitate to ask Catherine for itineraries - she knows the area like the back of her hand.
