The Boutique-Hotel Schlüssel is a charming 4* hotel dating back to 1820, located in the village of Beckenried on Lake Lucerne in the canton of Nidwalden in central Switzerland. From the moment you step through the door, you'll feel at ease and at home.
We advise you to book your stay at Boutique-Hotel Schlüssel via Booking.com, which often offers free cancellation. Send us a postcard if you go, we'd love it.
When you arrive on site, you'll be greeted immediately by our team, who will help you with your luggage if necessary. They speak German, French or English. Free parking is available. The old house was built in 1727 and has been superbly renovated.
There are 12 lovingly appointed rooms and suites. They are the synthesis between modern comfort and old fashioned finds. Each room is unique and invites you to dream. Depending on your choice, you will have the following facilities: double bed, private bathroom, handmade soap with various aromas, free-standing bathtub, Belle Époque washbasin, noble larch wood floor, wifi, television and view of the rustic Nidwalden landscape.
The team is undoubtedly the strong point of the hotel. First, there is Connie, the passionate hostess who personally welcomes you in the dining room. Then there is Gosia, who constantly prepares fine food in the restaurant. And let's not forget Katja, who has worked at the hotel since day one with a rare attention to detail. On the spot, you will probably also meet Laura, Moritz and Oksana!
What we also love about the Schlüssel: its delicious cuisine and restaurant. It has been awarded 14 points by Gault Millau. In an authentic 100 year old space, you will be surprised every evening by an inventive, creative and refined cuisine. Chef Gosia uses the best ingredients from regional producers. The wine cellar only contains European wines, of which about 150 come from Switzerland.
The hotel chooses its producers with great care. Twice a week, Patrizia brings several crates of freshly harvested fruit and vegetables from her farm in Kallenbach, just a few minutes' walk away. The cheeses come from Heidi's cheese factory in the village. The family fishery in Ennetbürgen supplies freshly caught treasures from Lake Lucerne. The short circuit is always favored.
The village of Beckenried is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne at the foot of the Klewenalp. Lucerne is only 20 minutes away by car to the west. The origin of the name of the lake comes from the German expression (Waldstätten) designating the 3 primitive cantons of the country, joined by that of Lucerne. The landscapes are grandiose! Don't miss the Glasi Museum, 10 minutes away by car, where you can discover the art of glass making.
