L'hôtel du Petit Moulin is a secret, confidential address in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, in the Marais district. The interior design is by Christian Lacroix, the famous French fashion designer who fell under the building's spell. The hotel has been selected by the Michelin Guide.

Our experience

We visited le Petit Moulin and met some of the team. It was great fun! The manager is charming and very professional. The rooms are all different. The reception is in French, English or German.

A historic bakery

In the 16th century, during the reign of Henri IV, this was the site of the oldest bakery in Paris. The façade, renovated in 1900, is listed as a historic monument. Legend has it that French writer Victor Hugo, who lived on the Place des Vosges, used to come here to get his bread!

The rooms

The hotel offers 16 rooms and 1 suite, each decorated in an entirely unique and personalized style. Rooms range in size from 16m² to 35m² for the largest. The decor is daring, atypical and colorful: mirrors on the ceiling, ceramic kaleidoscopes, panoramic wallpapers, a baroque atmosphere, flower and stripe motifs, etc. It's all superb and very tasteful. Nearby, the Rue des Rosiers, the epicenter of the Parisian Jewish community, is worth discovering for its very pleasant atmosphere. The Marais district is full of fashion boutiques, gourmet addresses and romantic curiosities.

Close to the Opéra Bastille, we discovered an ultra-sympathetic and romantic wine bar: Les Amoureuses. The place offers a large communal table (our photo) and a small secret table (our photo) for 2 people. Golden welcome, vintage music and unanimous online reviews.
