A Poet's Palace
When you arrive, the first thing you’ll notice is the monumental sandstone façade. Behind it lies a historic palace with a fascinating past. Built in 1724, it was once owned by Olivier de Reylof, a Belgian poet and playwright who enjoyed retreating there to write.
Listed as a historic monument, this mansion was carefully renovated in 2018, elegantly blending contemporary design with Empire and Louis XIV styles. We love the spiral staircase, the high ceilings, the creaking hardwood floors, and the fireplaces that make you want to settle in for the evening.
Couples love staying at the Hotel Reylof, praising in particular the beauty of the building, the absolute calm of the hotel, the ideal location in Ghent and the very pleasant spa.
Rooms and suites with balconies
There are 156 rooms and suites, all featuring a very refined modern design. They are located in the historic main building and in the newer wings, surrounding the lush courtyard garden. Here are our favorites:

Depending on your choice, you will enjoy the following amenities: queen or king size bedding, silky soft linens, private bathroom with luxury walk-in shower or bathtub, HD smart TV, Nespresso coffee machine, soft floor covering, quiet air conditioning, private balcony and individually selected paintings for each room.
The breakfast buffet
In the early morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet at LOF Café. On the menu: a selection of fresh fruit, artisanal breads and pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausages, yogurt, granola, a selection of nuts and seeds, an assortment of cheeses and cold cuts, a wide variety of beverages, freshly squeezed juices, and a variety of coffees and teas.
Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM Monday through Saturday, and from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Sundays and holidays. Breakfast is available as an optional extra for €75 for two.
The two restaurants and the bar
For lunch or dinner, the hotel features two great dining options.
First, LOF, a fine-dining restaurant run by chef Hannes Vandebotermet. Here, you can enjoy cuisine where every element complements each other perfectly, whether you choose à la carte or the 6-course menu. Discover, for example, scallops paired with cauliflower, seaweed, and pineapple, or lobster seasoned with asem pedis, orange, and Green Tiger tomatoes.
Second, Olivier le Petit Bistro offers a menu inspired by French cuisine, along with a few international classics. The peaceful courtyard is Ghent’s best-kept secret. Start with some hamachi sashimi, followed by a cacio e pepe risotto, and finish with a homemade Magnum ice cream in dark, milk, or white chocolate.
In the evening, climb the majestic staircase to the foyer and discover The Living Bar. Sit in front of the crackling fire, order a Twisted Negroni and enjoy a quiet chat in the subdued atmosphere.
The spa
During the day, visit the magnificent Reylof Spa, housed in the former inn of Baron Reylof. Enjoy a 25-square-meter heated indoor pool, a Finnish infrared sauna, and a fitness room. Experience the very essence of total serenity. A moment of pure relaxation.
A wide range of treatments and massages is also available. We recommend the signature Reylof massage, which can be enjoyed as a couple in the privacy of a treatment room. Prices start at €375 for two people for 60 minutes and €550 for 90 minutes.
The medieval city of Ghent
The Grand Boutique Hotel Reylof is located in one of Belgium’s most beautiful cities: Ghent. The historic heart of this former cloth-making city, situated less than 500 meters away, is a true gem. You’ll need to cross the Lys River via its small French-style bridges to admire the gabled houses lining its banks.
The Château des Comtes, located in the heart of the city, is a wonderful remnant of the Middle Ages; its comprehensive and entertaining tour is not to be missed.
