The Secret Bridge is a hidden cottage perched 7 meters above the ground in the heart of a residential neighborhood in Lasne, about 30 minutes from Brussels. When you close the door, you discover a whole new world (like a snow globe): a brick bridge over a river, a hanging green terrace, and lush natural surroundings. Our stay
We had the chance to spend an exceptional night here, and we immediately decided to add this place to our collection. It’s for places like this that Let’s Go My Love was created.
What we liked best:
- The feeling of stepping into a movie or a painting
- Total privacy from start to finish (you won’t run into anyone)
- The originality of the project
- The care put into every little detail
- The private, secure parking lot right in front of the entrance
- The deer we spotted during the evening (see below!)
- The pétanque court at the end of the bridge
A little history
The brick bridge once carried the tram that connected Brussels to Wavre, winding its way through rivers, fields, and valleys.
Built in the late 19th century, this bridge was an integral part of the W local line, which opened in 1899 and connected Brussels to Wavre via Braine-l’Alleud, Maransart, and Rixensart.
This tramway, which was initially steam-powered and then electrified in 1931, facilitated the transport of residents and goods, such as sand and sugar beets.
Today, although the tramway ceased operations in 1964, the bridge still stands proudly, serving as a reminder of the region's rich railway history.
It was Laurence and Frédéric who decided to breathe new life into this secret, forgotten place—but without ever betraying its spirit.
It took nearly four years of work. And the result is... Wow!
Discovering the cabin
You can check in on your own at From at 4:00 p.m. using a convenient electronic lock with a code. Park your car in the small private parking lot, follow the rails, and open the cottage’s heavy door. You’ll step into another world.
You'll discover the interior, especially this large picture window with a mesmerizing view of nature. It's hard not to fall in love with it right away.
The cottage measures 50 m² and includes the following amenities: a bedroom with a king-size bed, a small, fully equipped kitchen, a wood-burning stove (wood provided), a bathroom, a covered patio, a sunken fire pit area, and a pétanque court at the end of the brick bridge. We really love the light switches and the beautifully done interior decor.
Good to know: The venue is smoke-free, pets are not allowed, and the 5G connection can sometimes be unreliable. However, Wi-Fi is available.
The Exterior
Gently open the door to discover the green terrace (which is somewhat reminiscent of New York’s High Line) and the brick bridge. Below, you’ll see the garden, the river, and the many trees, including a very majestic willow and a century-old poplar. It’s all private and just for you.
Beavers have carved out a peaceful marsh in the river, a refuge for rare birds. It's very idyllic.
In the evening, it's not uncommon to spot fallow deer on the estate. And that's exactly what happened during our stay, on the pétanque court. Needless to say, it was quite a surprise, especially since they stayed there for quite a while.
Dining options
In the evening, treat yourself to an appetizer platter, a three-course catered meal, or a bottle of champagne. It’ll be waiting for you in the fridge when you arrive. We highly recommend it—you won’t really want to leave and break the spell.
When you wake up, a breakfast basket can also be discreetly left at the entrance to the cottage at the time of your choosing. You can choose between two options: “Vitality Morning” and “Gentle Morning.”
On the menu: whole-grain rolls or slices of multigrain bread, local honey, low-calorie jam, creamy yogurt and granola, chia seeds, fruit compote with no added sugar, seasonal fruit, and freshly squeezed orange juice or organic apple juice.

The Secret Bridge is located in a residential neighborhood in Lasne, in Walloon Brabant, about 30 minutes from Brussels.
There are plenty of places to go for a walk nearby, including the Forêt de Soigne (we love it!) and the Bois de la Cambre.
Lake Genval is also a great option. It offers an enchanting setting that changes with the seasons. With its peaceful and romantic atmosphere, it’s perfect for enjoying a relaxing moment surrounded by nature. You can stroll along its shores, go fishing, sail, or ride a pedalboat.
