Tynil Saint Jean a charming tiny house located in Saint Jean-Sart, 30 minutes from Liège, in the Province of Liège, Wallonia, Belgium. It’s a very secluded, quiet, and relaxing spot—and completely set back from the street. Check out our video filmed on-site to get a feel for the place.
Special offer
Mention Let's Go My Love to Laurent (the owner) when booking, and get free breakfast for 2. If you stay 2 nights or more, it's valid only on the 1st morning. Breakfast is normally €30 for 2 people.
Important: this advantage is only valid if you book directly: by phone, Whatsapp , Instagram or e-mail for example.
We definitely recommend booking directly, as the price is slightly lower than what you’ll find elsewhere. Rates start at around €195 per night for two people, with self-check-in available starting at 2:00 p.m.—which is rare and very convenient.
If you book on Friday or Saturday, a minimum of 2 nights is required. From Sunday to Thursday, however, you can book a single night.
Our experience
We had the chance to spend a fantastic night there. We loved the truly secluded location and the XXL Nordic hot tub. It's simple, sometimes a little rustic, but very pleasant.
During your stay, Laurent is always on hand and available if you need him. We're at contact all the time to make sure that the on-site experience is always top-notch. Tynil Saint-Jean's idea was inspired by a stay in Shanghai, China, where most of the studios in the old city are tiny houses.
The house
On-site, you'll find the following amenities: a kitchen with a refrigerator and stove, a bathroom, a queen-size bed upstairs (accessible via a small ladder), a beautiful, comfortable patio under the trees, and an outdoor hot tub with a hydromassage feature. The decor is simple and very tasteful.
We recommend that you start heating the Nordic bath as soon as you arrive, since it can take quite a while—at least 1 hour and 30 minutes. But once you're in, it's the best.
Tip: The box with kindling and matches is hidden behind the tarp, which you’ll need to remove. To activate the bubbles, you have to open a small, very inconspicuous flap located to the right of the steps leading into the Nordic bath. It took us quite a while to find it!
The extras
- Unlimited access to private sauna (€70 per day)
- Full breakfast delivered by the local baker (free if you mention Let's Go My Love, otherwise 30€ for 2 people)
- Cheese fondue with fine charcuterie and wine from the local cheese dairy (60€ for 2 people)
Note: Breakfast is left in a basket at the entrance to the estate between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m., without disturbing you.
Location
You're right in the middle of the countryside, in a tiny, charming village called Saint Jean-Sart, in the hills of the Val-Dieu valley. Things to do in the area include a walk along the Bèfve river, a visit to the Val Dieu Abbey with a tasting of its typical beer, and the big market in Aubel on Sundays and Tuesdays.
Looking for a good restaurant nearby? We loved Perle Do Brasil, which is about a 10-minute drive away. It's a small Brazilian restaurant with very warm and friendly owners. The tapas are delicious, but the bill can add up quickly, so be careful.
