Our stay

We've had the chance to stay at the Confidentiel Hotel twice, and we absolutely loved it both times. The place is inspired by the intimate atmosphere of Parisian private clubs from the 1970s.

What we love:

- The secret, intimate atmosphere
- The wonderful welcome from Dounia, the manager
- The whole team, especially Fi, Samy, Ryad, Abde, and Lyes
- The dream location just 5 minutes from the Louvre
- The fabulous, romantic bar in the basement
- The heated floor in the bathroom
- The soundproofing

What we like a little less: the breakfast is pretty run-of-the-mill. But that's really just a minor detail.

Life in the hotel

From As you enter, a subtle woody scent (the hotel's signature fragrance) welcomes you. There's a tiny front desk and a tiny lobby. It's very charming.

Dounia, the director, is often on site and always does her very best to ensure your stay is a complete success. She is young but already has all the makings of a true lady of the hospitality industry.

There are 5 guest rooms and one suite on the top floor. Depending on your choice, you’ll enjoy the following amenities: haute couture bedding with cotton percale sheets, a bathroom with heated floors, a flat-screen TV, a complimentary minibar, a Dyson hair dryer, a Nespresso machine, and air conditioning.

The hotel's cleanliness deserves special mention. It's spotless, and there's hardly any dust.

Tip: When you book online, mention that you're celebrating a special occasion and ask for the highest-floor room available. It's never guaranteed, but it doesn't cost anything to ask.

In the basement, the hotel features a speakeasy bar hidden beneath the stonework, concealed behind a velvet curtain. It’s the perfect spot to sip a cocktail under the vaulted ceilings. The atmosphere is clandestine and subdued.

The hotel is located in the heart of Paris, in the 1st arrondissement, at 64 Rue de l'Arbre Sec. Every stone here exudes the atmosphere of centuries past. Step outside the hotel, and everything is within easy reach: an exhibition at the Louvre, a coffee at the Palais-Royal, a stroll through the covered arcades, or a walk along the banks of the Seine.

If you're coming by car, there's a very convenient public parking lot just a 3-minute walk away: Parking Indigo Paris Louvre Samaritaine.

If you’re looking for a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, we recommend checking out Gloria Osteria, which is just nearby, not far from the Tuileries Garden. Top-notch Italian cuisine, charming service, and an interior that transports you to another world. Ask for a quiet, romantic table when you make your reservation. We tried it during the day. The reviews are pretty unanimous: 4.9/5 and over 1,400 reviews.
