We visit the hotel every year and have stayed in regular contact with the team for several years to ensure that the guest experience is top-notch. Marion and Lena run the hotel creatively and with a keen eye for detail.

What we love about this place: we love the romantic atmosphere, the excellent soundproofing, the unique design of each room, and the hotel’s location.

If you're planning a surprise

We have a few tips for you:

1. The team is your playmate. Specify what you'd like during booking: natural rose petals on the bed, a marriage proposal, decorative balloons or a letter on the bed, for example. Once the booking is complete, you'll receive an e-mail from the team to discuss the details of the surprise.

2. Prepare a double surprise to confuse your guests. The 1st surprise: when you arrive at the hotel and discover your room. And the 2nd surprise: you ask the hotel staff to come and discreetly decorate the room in the evening, while you go to eat at the restaurant for example.

3. Book a private spa session (see below) and a duo massage in advance. And ask to use your own music playlist in the spa and massage room.

The rooms

In the privacy of your room, you suddenly become a privileged guest at Paris’s most prestigious landmarks. All rooms feature: a queen- or king-size bed, soft lighting, a mattress with pocket-spring technology, Webert fixtures, Balmin amenities, a Bluetooth speaker, lighting scenes, triple-pane windows, and a kettle.

Of the 29 rooms, 4 have corner Jacuzzis and 19 have rectangular Jacuzzis. If you absolutely must have a room with a corner Jacuzzi, for example, don't hesitate to make a request when booking, and the team will do its utmost to accommodate you.

All rooms have private Jacuzzis, except Moulin Rouge rooms, which have massage showers, and Tour Eiffel rooms, which have whirlpool baths or massage showers.

There are a total of 52 secrets to discover throughout the hotel. They're hidden just about everywhere. Near reception, we like this quote from the famous French dialogue writer Michel Audiard:"A secret consists in repeating it to only one person at a time."

The private spa

When you make your reservation, you can also book a session at the hotel’s private wellness center. It is open 24 hours a day and features a steam room, a sauna, a hot tub, and a starlit sky. For example, for a 90-minute private session, the price is €125 if you are staying at the hotel and €185 if you are visiting from outside.

Location

The hotel is located in the Trinité district, just a 10-minute walk from Moulin Rouge and a 20-minute walk from Sacré-Cœur. The hotel offers a preferential rate for parking at the Gare Saint-Lazare, a 5-minute walk away. Just let us know when you make your reservation, and we'll give you a receipt when you check out, enabling you to pay less for your parking.

Nearby, we like the "Mur des je t'aime" occupying a wall in Square Jehan-Rictus, on Place des Abbesses. Here's our on-the-spot photo. It's a 40m² mural made up of 612 glazed lava tiles reproducing 311 "je t'aime" in 250 languages, some of them rare and forgotten. The red splinters represent the pieces of a broken heart, just waiting to be put back together.

If you're looking for a restaurant in the area, you can of course book a dinner show at the Moulin Rouge. But it's expensive and very touristy. We tried Gegeor, just a 5-minute walk away. The staff are very welcoming, the place is beautifully decorated and the food is delicious. Don't miss the Ravioles du Royans, white port cream and black truffle oil.

Another idea for a good meal is the 3V near Gare Saint-Lazare. Candles everywhere, elaborate lighting, a warm welcome and a unique, tasty menu. A real favorite.

PS: if the hotel is full, try your luck at Paris j'Adore just a 10-minute walk away. It's partly the same team, and all the rooms have Jacuzzis too. It's a little more upmarket. We know both hotels very well.
