Our stay at this family-run hotel
We had wanted to stay here for several years and it was a fantastic stay. It's a great choice for a romantic weekend in the Ardennes. In fact, the online reviews are virtually unanimous.
On site, the welcome is impeccable. The team is warm (special mention to Évelyne!) and really takes the time to listen: you never feel like a number. In fact, it's been the same team for a long time. Communication is possible in French, Dutch or English.
Manager Stéphanie breathes superb energy into the whole hotel. She's sunny and energetic. We really like her. Le Florentin is a family affair dating back to the early 20th century, and you can really feel it in the way things are done.
The hotel is dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome, except in certain suites. Please check when booking. A welcome pack with treats is specially prepared for them. Perhaps you'll have the chance to meet Frisko, the Florentin's mascot.

Feeling hungry? Visit our warmly-colored restaurant for a truly gastronomic experience. Chef Philippe Duret spent 20 years of his life in several renowned restaurants (including one Michelin-starred restaurant) before arriving at Le Florentin. Try the croquettes with Orval cheese, the region's most typical dish. It's sure to wake up your taste buds! Please note that the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
In summer, you can dine on the magnificent vegetated terrace at the rear. A true haven of peace. Watch this video to discover it.
In the evening, we love to relax with a drink in the piano bar, with its lounge area, subdued atmosphere, cosy armchairs, open fire and lacquered black piano. A pianist plays on Friday and Saturday evenings, adding an extra touch of romance.
During the summer, we have a plancha night every Friday evening!
The Little Spa
The spa is a true haven of relaxation, perfect for recharging together. It features an infrared sauna for two, accompanied by soothing music that instantly helps you unwind. For an even more sensory experience, a dedicated room features a hydro-massage table where water jets flow over your entire body, offering a moment of deep relaxation.
Finally, a small fitness area allows fitness enthusiasts to stay in shape without leaving the hotel.

Location
Le Florentin located in southern Belgium, just a few minutes from the French border. There is free, secure parking behind the hotel. Don’t miss the church, just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Right behind it, you’ll find an exceptional view of the Semois Valley, the neighboring villages, and the Ardennes Forest.
Not far from there, we recommend walking across the Sainte-Cécile Himalayan suspension bridge: it hangs nearly 30 meters above the water and is 185 meters long. Impressive! Watch this video to get an idea. The end of the video actually shows le Florentin.
Another idea:Orval Abbey (external link) (10 min away), which is a must-see. The ruins of the former Cistercian abbey are magnificent. The peaceful atmosphere invites meditation. Enjoy beer and cheese at the brewery.
A short drive away—about 25 minutes—the Bouillon Castle immerses you in over 1,000 years of medieval history, with its authentic halls and mysterious underground passages. In our opinion, it is one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.
