Berta Tiny House is a small house in the middle of meadows located in Verlaine, in the Province of Liège, 15 minutes from Liège and 40 minutes from Brussels. It has all the comforts you need, including a cozy wood-burning stove inside. It's the perfect place for a couple's getaway in the countryside.

Our experience

We had the opportunity to stay here and it was really perfect. What we liked best: the tiny's quiet location with a beautiful view, the cows just across the road, the brazier outside, the wood-burning stove inside, the candles everywhere and the high-quality bedding.

On the day of your stay, check-in is completely self-service from 3 p.m. onwards: you won't encounter anyone from start to finish. However, you can also request for someone to be present if that suits you better. Free private parking is available.

The owner's name is Julien. He built Berta (with the help of his family and friends) during his engineering studies with particular care. Julien chose oak as the wood, which gives the home a unique, authentic character. The kitchen, meanwhile, is entirely handmade.

The tiny house

Inside, you will find the following amenities: high-quality bedding, private bathroom with shower, dry toilet, table for two, refrigerator, wood stove with wood provided, and electric heating for cooler winter nights.

In front of the tiny house, you can enjoy a small private terrace, a fire pit, and two red outdoor armchairs, perfect for sitting by the fire and roasting marshmallows. Good to know: wood is provided.

Breakfast is not currently provided in the mornings, but we recommend picking up fresh bread and croissants at Boulangerie Grégoire, a 4-minute drive away. Everything you need to make coffee is provided in the tiny house.

If you want to stock up on fruit, milk, or other groceries, there is a supermarket less than 10 minutes north of Verlaine by car.

In the midst of Verlaine's meadows

Berta is located in the beautiful Hesbaye region of Wallonia, Belgium. There are many castles to discover in the area, including the fantastic Château de Seraing-le-Château, just a few minutes' walk away, and Château de Jehay.

If you're looking for a good restaurant in the evening, we have 2 good addresses to recommend: G&E restaurant (which makes excellent takeaway pizzas) and Kaillou in Villers-le-Bouillet. If you prefer, you can also opt for an extra "raclette/fondue" package at €30 per person, including wine. Don't hesitate to ask Julien when booking.
