The 3 possible experiments

1. A stay in one of 5 game lodges. This includes overnight accommodation, breakfast, evening meal and access to the park. It's like full board and the price starts at €279/night.

2. A stay at the Wood Hotel, a 2-minute drive from the park. This includes overnight stay and breakfast but does not include access to the park. A very good compromise. Prices start at 135€/night.

3. A visit to the park during the day. If you do not wish to sleep on site. Prices start at €19/person, with reductions for children.

Our stay

We had the opportunity to stay here twice: in Harry's lodge the 1st time and in Mathilde's lodge the second time. It was exceptional each time.

What we liked best: breakfast with the wolves at the foot of the lodge, the cute polar foxes, the upmarket feel of the lodge and the overall excellent impression.

Antoine gave us the tour. He's funny, professional and very involved in the visitors' well-being.

Good to know: we always read customer reviews before choosing a place to stay. The reviews for Forestia are quite unique in Belgium. There are over 200 reviews on Google with a rating of 4.9/5. This should reassure you about the quality of your stay here.

The arrival

If you're staying overnight, you'll still need to check in at the Wood Hotel reception desk (the park's hotel, a 2-minute drive away).

Here's the address to enter into your GPS on the day of your arrival: rue du pied de la Fagne 10, 4910 Theux. However, if you're not sleeping, you can go straight to the park entrance.

Your room or lodge is available from 3:00 PM, but you’re welcome to arrive as soon as the park opens. That way, you can drop off your luggage and start exploring the park right away. Park opening hours may vary depending on the season, so be sure to check in advance to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

And off we go for a day to remember.

The park

Forestia is above all 300 animals in semi-liberty in the middle of the forest, 44 hectares and over 5 kilometers of parkways. The park is landscaped but still quite raw, and we love that.

Some species to discover: lynx (a new lynx arrived in 2026), black bears, American bison, European wolves (video in the morning from our room!), Canadian wolves, and arctic foxes.

The lodges can easily accommodate 2 to 6 people. Of the 5 lodges, 3 are recommended for couples: Simone, Scott and Harry. Couples account for half of all bookings at Forestia, and it's the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.

Depending on the lodge you choose, you'll enjoy the following facilities: large bedroom with comfortable bed from Auping, terrace with deckchairs and view, flat-screen TV, bathroom with bath or shower, welcome products from Damana, microwave, fridge, sink, crockery, coffee machine, minibar, sitting area and dining table.

During our stay, we were surprised to discover that the lodges were luxuriously finished to a very high standard. It's something you don't necessarily see in the photos, but it's evident at every moment of our stay.

Dining in the park

In the morning, breakfast is delivered directly to your lodge entrance. It's included in your reservation. On the menu: 100% organic juice from Cléoju, fruit, dairy products, pastries, rolls, hard-boiled eggs and cold cuts.

In the evening, head to the park's restaurant, Forest'Bar, to round off the day in style. Delicious burgers on the menu. We recommend the beef tagliata, which is really very good.

The Wood Hotel

On a tight budget? You can also stay at the Wood Hotel, just a 2-minute drive away. It's on the same estate. There are 6 rooms. Each room is named after an emblematic animal of the park, although these are obviously not visible from your window.

Ideas for outings

Not far away, we had the opportunity to discover the Charmille du Haut Marêt, and it was a real "coup de coeur". It's a 600-meter walkway covered with branches that form a veritable canopy of vegetation.

It's a beautiful place in any season, and the longest promenade of its kind in Europe.
