L'Oréliane is a charming, authentic b&b located in Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne, near Avignon, in Provence, in the South of France. There are 5 rooms, an outdoor pool and a private wellness area with Jacuzzi. The place is accessible to adults only and is a true haven of peace.

A warm welcome from Christine and Dominique

We had the opportunity to sleep here and meet the owners, who are absolutely adorable. What we liked best: Christine's warm welcome and sunny personality, Dominique's quiet strength, the great value for money, the love felt everywhere, the old-fashioned decor (but not too busy) and the little hidden pool.

Local children, Christine and Dominique, the owners, have an unconditional love for their region. They have lived here for 60 years, and have been winegrowers from father to son. They've been a couple for over 45 years. For the record, the name Oréliane is a contraction of Dominique's parents: Aurélio and Marianne.

In a quiet and soothing atmosphere, have your breakfast in the shade of the splendid Provencal hackberry tree, read a book by the pool or taste Christine's local specialties. Your privacy is always respected: the owners are very discreet and no one can see you when you are in your room or by the pool.

We visited all the rooms, and our favorites were Livaline, Alphonsine and Cardinale. But rest assured, all the rooms are worth a visit. Livaline is the furthest from the other 4, has a bathtub and overlooks the pool. We found the Cardinale room particularly pretty and pleasant.

Depending on the room you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: high-comfort bedding by Epeda, linen or cotton gauze bed linen, organic home products by Rampal Latour, private bathroom, old-fashioned bathtub, Kinédo whirlpool bathtub, organic bath salts, air conditioning, wifi, walk-in shower, fluffy bath towels and pool towels in fine weather.

Life at home

At the back of the house, you'll find a small, clear swimming pool. You can swim in complete privacy. Deckchairs all around offer you a moment of pure pleasure, with the song of the cicadas and the nearby fountain providing the soundtrack. A fridge with drinks and ice creams is at your disposal. The pool is open until 10pm, so you can enjoy the lovely summer evenings.

During the day, the wellness area can be privatized upon reservation at the price of 50€ for 2 people. This includes a jacuzzi, hammam and sauna. Bathrobes and slippers are provided, as well as herbal tea, tea and some sweets. You can also ask for a massage, alone or in duo, performed by a qualified professional.

Tip: book your spa time as far in advance as possible, so you can rest easy. Simply send Christine an e-mail after you've made your reservation, or specify it during the booking process.

Every morning, enjoy your breakfast, included in the price of your reservation, in the dining room or in the garden if the weather is nice. The menu often varies depending on Christine and Dominique's inspiration, but it is always quite phenomenal. On the menu: fresh bread, pastries, homemade cakes, dried fruit, seasonal fruit salads, organic cereals, cheese, yogurt, homemade jams, coffee, tea, herbal tea, and hot chocolate.

An optional wine-tasting tour

The Côtes du Rhône route begins at the foot of L'Oréliane, making it the ideal starting point for a getaway to meet local winemakers. Christine and Dominique offer this option exclusively on Let's Go My Love.

As soon as you arrive at the B&B, enjoy a gourmet welcome with a platter and two complimentary glasses of wine. The next day, after breakfast, a tour at 11 a.m. of the Château de Fontségugne Estate, a Provençal picnic basket, followed by a tour of the Domaine de la Chapelle. On the third day, head out to explore the Domaine des Garriguettes.

This wine tourism stay is available for a minimum of two nights, in the room of your choice, starting at €165 for two people, not including the cost of accommodation.

The location in the Vaucluse

L'Oréliane located in the charming fortified village of Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne, in the Vaucluse region, about a 25-minute drive from Avignon.

If you want to eat in a village restaurant, the owners recommend Maison de Celou, just a 7-minute walk away. The online reviews are indeed excellent.

Here are some of our favorites nearby: the Colorado Provençal in the heart of the Luberon, the Carrières des Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Joucas, Roussillon and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Each place left us with a unique memory: the Colorado Provençal for its spectacular ochre landscapes worthy of the Far West, the Carrières des Lumières for their immersive magic perfect on a rainy day, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse for its mysterious spring and freshness, Joucas for its calm and preserved authenticity, Roussillon for its colorful streets and sunny charm, and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for its brocantes and romantic canals.
