Exploring the castle

At the end of a plane tree-lined driveway, you'll discover the charm and tranquility of a vast 19th-century manor house. The history of the estate has spanned the centuries.

Legend has it that this rural estate once belonged to a 13th-century knight. It’s hard to verify, but the hundreds of cypress trees on the property certainly indicate that there was already a building here in the Middle Ages.

The history of the house is above all the adventure of a family: that of the Bons who, in 1979, acquired the property with the idea of making it a beautiful house where guests would be received as friends. Today, 3 generations are watching over the place: Catherine, Maya and Mathilde. And the succession is already assured.

There are 21 rooms and suites. All are distinguished by an atmosphere that emphasizes comfort, aesthetics and privacy. The rooms are housed in 4 different buildings: the manor house, the cypress farmhouse, the chapel and the washhouse. Please note that all rooms are dog-friendly!

A life of luxury

For your meals, the hotel offers a high quality catering service, whether in the salons of the castle, on the terrace or by the pool. Chefs Mathias Bettinger and Agustin Ontivero exalt the aromas of the south with refined, colorful and tasty dishes. Try the tasty monkfish fillet with creamy carrots, charcoal gnocchi and roasted fennel. For dessert, the crème brûlée is divine.

One evening a week, local musicians provide the ambiance for dinner by the pool. A real treat, especially if you're celebrating a special occasion as a couple.

During the day, you'll love strolling through the park to read, admire nature or simply relax by the pool. There are many century-old trees, rare plants, a stream and several ponds. Here, regional species such as the Magnolia stand side by side with exotic varieties such as the palm tree or the rarer and more exceptional Ginkgo Biloba.

Between Avignon and Les Baux-de-Provence

Le Château des Alpilles is located near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the French department of South of France. If you're going for a walk, don't miss Glanum, an incredible archaeological site. Saint-Rémy is also home to numerous religious buildings, including the sublime Saint Paul de Mausolée monastery, famous for inspiring Van Gogh, who spent a year there in 1890, painting much of his work.
