A historic mansion

Built in 1887 on the seafront, this former mansion takes its name from the limestone cliffs that line the coast from Cassis to Marseille. It wasn’t until the early 1920s that the property was converted into a hotel.

Winston Churchill, and later Edith Piaf, spent a few days there.

From this period, the building retains some precious elements of art deco architecture: its wrought iron entrance framed by columns, two balconies with elaborate corbelling and an astonishing staircase banister with scale motifs.

The hotel offers three types of rooms, six suites, and a villa with four bedrooms and two exclusive swimming pools. The style is understated and modern, with French elegance and a subtle Art Deco touch. Here are our favorites:

Each room has a large king-size bed, a bathroom with shower or bathtub, air conditioning, and sometimes a terrace with sea views. The suites feature a double walk-in shower, a bathtub, a terrace with panoramic views of Cap Canaille, and sometimes a private steam room.

Life in the hotel

Outside, the hotel’s gardens are lush with trees, featuring umbrella pines and succulents, laid out in terraces, and offer direct access to the sea. You’ll also find two heated infinity pools.

From aperitifs to the end of the evening, relax on the pétanque court. Come sip pastis-based cocktails and enjoy a special moment with your loved one.

The hotel features three unique and delicious restaurants. First, Les Belles Canailles offers bold, locally sourced cuisine, including, for example, a delicious bouillabaisse that pays homage to the region. Le Rocco, meanwhile, has a Mediterranean focus and offers a selection of mezze and antipasti. Finally, Le Loup Bar specializes in Nikkei cuisine, which blends Japanese and Peruvian flavors.

Every morning, breakfast is served as a buffet at the Loup Bar or in the comfort of your room.
