Our on-site visit
During one of our many trips to Provence, we had the chance to visit the place and have coffee with the owners, Éric and Caroline. We hit it off right away.
Here are our favorites:
- The outdoor terrace, which is the main highlight of the place (winter as well as summer)
- The jacuzzi/fire combo
- Rare intimacy
- Impeccable cleanliness
- It's both beautiful and practical
The cottage
When you arrive, Eric will greet you with a big smile. Park your car in the private space right next to the cabin.
Inside, you'll find the following amenities: a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking, a living room with a Smart TV, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. There's air conditioning in the living room and another unit in the bedroom. It's very cozy, and much of the furniture is completely custom-made.
Outside, the covered patio is waiting for you and features the following amenities: a large stainless-steel hot tub, a stylish fireplace right next to it (it’s a hanging fire pit), a plancha grill, and a dining table.
A truly pleasant and relaxing view: a verdant 1200 m² plot planted with olive trees and xerophytic plants. With the added bonus of cicadas singing. In the evening, it's magical! Completely private.
Location
The cottage's location makes it easy to reach Avignon in no time (10 minutes by car) and also allows you to explore many nearby attractions.
During the Middle Ages, the fortified city of Avignon was one of the most influential in the Western world. The Palace of the Popes is now the largest Gothic palace in the world and one of the most visited monuments in France. Don't miss its main courtyard, which is transformed into a theatre stage during the Avignon Festival in the summer.
Here are our other favourite places in the area: the Colorado Provençal in the heart of the Luberon, the Carrières des Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Joucas, Roussillon and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
Each place left us with a unique memory: the Colorado Provençal for its spectacular ochre landscapes worthy of the Far West, the Carrières des Lumières for their immersive magic perfect on a rainy day, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse for its mysterious spring and its freshness, Joucas for its calm and preserved authenticity, Roussillon for its colorful streets and its sunny charm, and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for its flea markets and its romantic canals.
This blog brings together more than 350 romantic and unique destinations in a one-of-a-kind collection. These might include a hidden hotel or a cabin by a lake, for example. Absolutely! The house is truly a little haven of privacy. What's more, the private spa is a significant bonus to enhance your stay. Not to mention its proximity to Avignon and Provence.
The house is less than 20 minutes from Avignon, home to the magnificent Palais des Papes and the famous Pont Saint-Bénézet. A little further afield, the charming village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (for example) is a 35-minute drive away. The region is stunning.
