The history of Lido Island
Between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the island of Lido experienced a period of incredible growth, thanks to the popularity of seaside bathing. By 1913, Ausonia Hungaria an icon of the island, thanks to the work of ceramicist Luigi Fabri, who decorated the hotel’s façade with majolica tiles in a typically Italian Art Nouveau style.
