The arrival

On-site reception is open from 7am to 10pm. You'll be greeted by Daniel and Gisela, the owners, and the whole team. Special mention to Mélanie! Communication is very easy in German, English or French. Dogs are welcome at an additional cost.

History

For Eiger Mountain, it all began in 1890. Back then, the 45-bed hotel was called Hotel Grindelwald. It was the beginning of a rich history, with many changes of ownership. In 1962, the hotel came under the ownership of the Heller family, and in 1999 Daniel and Gisela, the 2nd generation, took over the management of the hotel. Their priority? To make your stay a memorable one.

Depending on your choice, you'll enjoy the following amenities: queen-size bed with box spring, private bathroom with shower and/or free-standing bathtub, Pure Herbes toiletries in the bathroom, private balcony in some rooms, flat-screen TV, coffee machine and Swissness minibar with complimentary Swiss products, which is rare and always a pleasure.

Breakfast

In the morning, enjoy a delicious sweet and savory breakfast in the dining room. If you have booked a room or suite, breakfast is included in your reservation. On the menu: fresh bread, fruit juice, eggs, cold meats, cheese, fruit, Nespresso coffee, pastries and delicious crumbles. Here again, the staff are always very attentive.

Barrys restaurant

For your meals, head to Barrys, a restaurant with a romantic mountain decor. We love the cozy niches on the 1st floor with subdued lighting. There's also a bar and lounge area. A wide range of Swiss and European wines are available at map. If you're celebrating a special occasion, there's also Veuve Cliquot, Dom Pérignon and Konrad Prosecco by DJ Antoine.

The spa

Want to relax? Don't miss the Eiger Spa, open until 9pm. It features a sauna area, cold plunge pools, a relaxation room, a meditation room, group classes, a fitness area, and personal development coaching. You can also enjoy the private jacuzzi, private spa, or the wide range of massages on offer.

Location

The hotel is just 5 minutes from the ski slopes and cable car. The train station is a convenient 500 meters away! Parking spaces are available behind the hotel, and you can also park your car in the hotel parking lot for CHF 15 per night. Grindelwald is a beautiful winter and summer resort at an altitude of 1000 m, in the heart of the Jungfrau, in the canton of Berne, Switzerland.
