Cheval Blanc restaurant
For your meals, expect a festival of flavors. Chef Peter Knogl and his team welcome you to Cheval Blanc, a restaurant with three Michelin stars and a Gaultmillau rating of 19/20. It is one of the 100 best restaurants in the world with a French haute cuisine enriched with Mediterranean and Asian influences.
The brewery
If you want to eat in a more relaxed way, go to the hotel's brasserie with some very good Swiss and French specialties. The products are always fresh, from a rich terroir. The view on the Rhine is very pleasant. We love the venison with foie gras, sour cherries and cocoa.
The bar
In the evening, head to the bar for a cocktail prepared with refinement by Chef Thomas. The ambience is very refined, with a large fireplace, high ceilings, comfortable armchairs and often live piano music. Some cocktails are prepared with a mysterious spray. That's all we can tell you! For cigar aficionados, there's also a comfortable lounge where you can smoke a good cigar from Cuba or the Dominican Republic.
Location
The hotel is located in the heart of Basel's historic center and offers a splendid view of the Rhine. The city has a lot to offer: a beautiful pedestrianized old town around the market square, more than 40 museums and a very pleasant cosmopolitan atmosphere: France and Germany are only a few minutes away by streetcar. The city hall (Rathaus Basel) with its deep red walls is not to be missed.
