An experience like no other

The price per night starts at about 1200€ for 2 people and can easily go up depending on your room. The price is high but it is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, like a wedding anniversary. Couples' opinions are almost unanimous: the experience is amazing.

The arrival

The location of Park Hotel is ideal: from the lake shore you can see the Bürgenstock (a peak in the Ural Alps at about 1100 meters) and the town of Beckenried. The water is so clear! When you enter the hotel, you discover a refined interior in white. The place is flooded with light. You are greeted in German and English.

The rooms

There are 48 rooms in the hotel. Each room is named after a personality or a prestigious institution: Shiller, Scappi, Yale or New World for example. Some rooms offer a splendid view of the lake, sometimes even from the bathtub, as in the Scappi suite.

Depending on the room you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: king-size bedding, granite bathroom with bath or shower, private balcony, dressing room, air conditioning and kitchenette. The minibar is generously stocked and included in the price. Even the towels are perfect: big, firm, not too fluffy, not too rough. And they smell so good. A delight after the shower!

With 2 Michelin-starred restaurants and a lakeside terrace with barbecue, the hotel is right at the top of map of Swiss haute cuisine. Here are 3 places to eat:

- Focus Atelier: starred chef Patrick Mahler and his team, awarded 18 points in the Gault & Millau and 2 stars in the Michelin guide, put all their know-how at the service of surprising and refined creations. Menus are available in 7 or 10 courses.
- Prisma: the Japanese expression Omakase is an integral part of the cuisine of Michelin-starred chef Philipp Heid in this restaurant with its bewitching atmosphere. It's a way of saying: I'll leave you to it. Prepare yourself for a culinary journey halfway between Asian and European cuisine.
- Seeterrasse: weather permitting, come and discover the culinary delights of Berlin grill master Felix Kattchin on the terrace by Lake Lucerne. Taste a delicious cuisine where meat is king, and enjoy the view of the Alps. The sunset is breathtaking.

The wine cellar

At the end of the evening, discover the Holy Grail of Park Hotel : the wine cellar. It is one of the most exclusive in the world. It houses over 35,000 bottles of wine. It's best to book a guided tour if you want to sample wine treasures from around the world. The subtle lighting, the lovingly sorted bottles or the different thematic sections: you feel like in a prestigious museum.

The Park Hotel Vitznau is located in the canton of Lucerne, south of Zurich, in central Switzerland. There are many activities around the lake, including the Goldau Wildlife Park, which is a 30-minute drive away. In a wild and romantic environment, more than 100 species of European animals (many endangered) live on a large area of 42 hectares. Lucerne is only 35 minutes away by car.
