As soon as you walk through the front door, you're greeted by Christian and John, who are probably the warmest and nicest people you'll ever meet. Both are originally from Stockholm. You can feel the energy immediately... The whole hotel is magnificent, filled with candles and beautiful bouquets of flowers.
All 9 rooms are beautifully decorated in a Nordic-Alpine style and feature a pleasant private balcony. Amenities include an extremely comfortable king-size bed, private bathroom with shower and/or bathtub, natural slate floor, Smart TV and wifi connection.
The evening meal in the restaurant is an unforgettable experience, with a constantly changing surprise menu. The evening usually begins with a delicious cocktail on the terrace, followed by the first courses on the terrace by a log fire with a majestic view of the mountains. From start to finish, it's an explosion of flavors. A true love letter to Switzerland, we love it! Try the Swiss shrimp with steamed broccoli leaves, woolly pork emulsion and not-yet-ripe strawberries... We'd love to hear from you.
Christian and John put morality at the heart of cooking. They cook sustainably and want to lead by example. They strive to create a close relationship with their producers (the best in the region) in order to offer good products, both for the environment and for you. On their walks in the forest, the duo not only look for berries, herbs and mushrooms: they also hold most of their meetings there.
Engelberg, with its old village center, Benedictine monastery and charming surroundings, offers both relaxing and exciting activities all year round. Numerous crystal-clear mountain lakes in the vicinity and over 360 kilometers of hiking trails. This is the largest ski area in central Switzerland, and it was here that the first Swiss cable car was built in 1927. Lucerne can be reached in just 1 hour by train.
A final activity idea: take the Titlis Rotair cable car, the world's first rotating cable car, just 4 km from the hotel. From up there, the panorama of snow-capped peaks and unspoilt Alpine scenery is breathtaking.
