La Cabane des Avelines a charming place located in Sart-Dames-Avelines, between Charleroi and Brussels, Belgium. It is a cabin furnished in an authentic, agricultural style with a Nordic bath. 🪩 Our stay

We had the opportunity to visit the cabin and meet Julie, the owner. She's very friendly and has an innate talent for interior design. Rarely have we seen such attention to detail and such passion. Take, for example, the disco ball on the bed, which diffuses light in a kaleidoscope pattern throughout the cabin when the sun is shining. The kind of detail we love.

Prices start at €179 per night for 2 people. If you stay 2 nights or more, you'll benefit from a total reduction of up to -35% on the cost of your stay. That's rare enough to be worth mentioning, and really interesting if you want to make the most of your stay and even work remotely on site.

🐿️ Julie, the owner

Julie likes to greet customers face-to-face, but you can also ask for a self-guided arrival, without running into anyone, at a time of your choosing. The choice is yours. Don't forget to specify this when booking. In any case, there's a mini-guide inside the cabin where everything is clearly explained.

🏡 The cabin

The cabin is powered by solar energy and heated by a pellet stove. It offers all the comforts of home, including a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom with welcome products from Dermasens, dry toilet, bedroom and king-size bed with sheets from the eco-responsible Belgian brand Kalani-Home. Crockery and kitchen accessories come from Dille et Kamille.

We love the vintage illustrations in the cabin (these are portraits of the family's grandparents!), created by Noémie from Red.Orb.Creation, which add even more style to the interior decor.

The location is extremely peaceful, on the banks of a river, in a very pleasant green setting. Everything is superbly equipped, arranged and decorated with care, taste and refinement. There's a gentle fragrance in the cabin that varies with the season.

There are no neighbors around you, and no disruptive elements. Your only companions are squirrels, birds, frogs, sheep and even deer! Keep your eyes peeled on your walks.

Outside the cabin, the Nordic bath offers views of the plains and the river. If you want to enjoy it, it's very simple: everything is ready when you arrive. The fire is crackling, the water is heated, and bathrobes and sandals are provided. The Nordic bath is available as an option for €40, regardless of the length of your stay. Don't forget to book this option at least one day before your arrival.

🧺 Options for your meals

Julie offers many options for romantic dining: candlelit raclette, vegetarian raclette, and appetizer platters, among others. Feel free to ask about these when you make your reservation.

♥️ Surprise your partner

If you want to surprise your partner, Julie is your partner in crime. She can, for example, give you the keys earlier in the day and already receive the luggage you've discreetly packed. Then suggest that your partner take a simple stroll. You can then "discover" the cabin together in the late afternoon and spend the night.

🌳 Between Brussels and Charleroi

The hut is located in Sart-Dames-Avelines, a village in Walloon Brabant between Brussels and Charleroi. If you come by train, you can stop at Villers-la-Ville station and walk for about 1 hour. There's a nice route through the forest: you can ask for it when you book.

There are plenty of walks to be had in the surrounding area, particularly in Villers-la-Ville and Genappe. Take a trip to the magnificent Abbaye de Villers-la-Ville, less than an hour's walk away! We also recommend a visit to Les Coteaux des Avelines, a magnificent winegrowing estate right next door, offering tours and tastings.
