Le Castel Beau Site is a majestic 4* hotel set on an idyllic beach in Perros-Guirec, Brittany, France. Paris is just 5 hours away by car. You're literally at the water's edge, with a postcard-perfect view of the island of Costaérès. Welcome to this romantic stone temple... One of our most beautiful addresses in the Côtes d'Armor.
Reservation

Our stay
We had the opportunity to stay here and it was a real change of scenery on every level. Our favorites: the magical view from the room, the fabulous evening spent in the restaurant, our walk to the Ploumanac'h lighthouse 15 minutes away and our in-room breakfast. The weather was glorious and golden that day. There's a light here that doesn't exist anywhere else...
100 years of history
Built in 1928, the hotel was for many years a simple boarding house. During the Second World War, it was requisitioned by the German army to house officers, before being reclaimed by France in 1949 as a vacation residence for military personnel. In 2002, Morgane le Meur fell in love with the place and bought it. The beginning of a renaissance.
The arrival
There is private parking available on site, just behind the hotel. During our stay, a member of staff kindly came out to greet us and show us to our parking space.
Once inside, you'll discover a tasteful, sober, contemporary decor. Coastal colors (the blue of the sea and the beige of the sand) and marine objects (driftwood, shells, rattan bar chairs and black-and-white photos of the region) are fully expressed. We love the cement-tiled lobby.
The rooms
The hotel has 31 rooms and 2 suites spread over 3 floors. Many offer a view of the sea and/or the "Sentier des Douaniers", a path that runs all the way around Brittany. All offer that special Breton atmosphere that makes you feel cocooned, and from which you can admire the elements outside, calm, radiant, or unleashed.
Some of our favorite rooms and suites:
1 • Premium Side view of the customs officers' path • Photo • ☁️
2 • Premium Sea view • Photo • 🌊
3 • Premium Balcony • Photo • ☀️
4 • Deluxe Sea view • Photo • 🛋️
5 • Suite with sea view • Photo • ✨
Depending on the room you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: queen or king-size bedding, private bathroom, fluffy towels, Clarins welcome products (among our favorites), light wood flooring, white furniture, Smart TV, Bose Bluetooth speaker, Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobes, slippers and separate toilet.
When booking, ask for a quiet room if possible, preferably on the 3rd floor and away from the elevator. These are the best rooms with the best views.
The restaurant overlooking the beach
In the evening, we strongly recommend reserving a table at the hotel's restaurant, La Table de Mon Père. The view over the bay is exceptional. If possible, ask for the romantic table at the far end, next to the large bay window. It's the best and quietest. Service is a little snobbish (except for the sommelier), but nothing to worry about.
And on your plate? A cuisine inspired by the sea and visually very creative by Chef Nicolas, a Breton. Here are just a few examples: lobster three ways, Bouchot mussels in zucchini cannelloni, sea bass in puffed scales, carrots and citrus fruit, or fillet of beef with seaweed. Tested and approved by us: here's a photo of the dessert taken that evening. Special mention to our 3 glasses of white wine included in the menu, very good and surprising.
Breakfast
Every morning, a delicious breakfast is served in the restaurant from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. We recommend enjoying it in your room for a change of scenery! Here is a photo of ours. On the menu: fresh bread, pastries, mature cheeses, pancakes, homemade crepes, smoked salmon, eggs cooked to your liking, Bordier yogurts, and fresh fruit salad.
Location
Castel Beau Site is located just a few minutes from the small town of Perros-Guirec, in the Côtes d'Armor region of France. It's one of the most beautiful places in France. A land of legends. People come here to recharge their batteries in a unique natural setting.
From the hotel, take the small path along the beach to discover one of Brittany's jewels: the Ploumanac'h lighthouse. The official name is Mean Ruz lighthouse.
From Perros-Guirec to Trébeurden, for some ten kilometers, the coastline is characterized by impressive heaps of round rocks. Their color varies from gray to salmon. This is what we call the Pink Granite Coast. It is thought to have been formed 300 million years ago, in a pocket of magma beneath an imposing mountain range that peaked at 6,000 metres.
We've got a great idea for a better look at these spectacular pink granite rocks. Take the Sentier des Douaniers from Saint-Guirec beach (the one in front of the hotel) to Trestraou beach. You'll pass the lighthouse mentioned above. Continue for a superb 3-hour hike, accessible to all, best done in the morning at high tide.
