Cracowdays is a lovely 3* hotel set in a historic 19th-century building on a quiet street just a few minutes from the center of Krakow. It's an authentic place with a real sense of welcome and conviviality: little welcome cookies, post-it notes with your first name, fresh flowers, authentic brick walls and eggs prepared in front of you by the lady of the house.
Reservation
We recommend that you book your stay at Cracowdays via Booking.com, which often offers free cancellation. Send us a message on Instagram if you go, it would make us super happy.
Our stay
We had the opportunity to stay here during our stay and it's clearly one of our favorite hotels in Krakow. And why is that? Because the welcome is so friendly and not at all operational, as is often the case elsewhere. Many hotels in Krakow want to project a professional image, but unfortunately sometimes forget everything else...
The flawless arrival
The arrival procedure is particularly meticulous. It is often possible to enter our room independently (without passing anyone), but this depends on the period. Instructions are sent to you by e-mail.
On arrival, the key to your room was hidden in a bouquet of flowers with a post-it note on which our first name was written by hand. Once inside the hotel, there was a second post-it note with our first name stuck on the door to your room. It doesn't look like much, but it immediately puts a smile on your face. The team has understood everything about the hotel business... And that's so rare!
The owners are Magdalena and Janusz, a couple who travel the world more than 250 days a year. When they're somewhere between Alaska and the Strait of Magellan, the very friendly Gosia is your hostess.
The rooms
Some of our favorite rooms:
1 • Kremerowska • Photo • 🌳
2 • Pinot Noir • Photo • 🪿
3 • Porto • Photo • ☁️
4 • Shiraz • Photo • 🪞
5 • Barolo • Photo • 🔥
6 • Chianti • Photo • 🧸
7 • Lambrusco • Photo • 🌄
When you book, ask for a room at the back of the building, as it overlooks a quiet, leafy courtyard.
The communal kitchen
The hotel also houses a shared kitchen where you can make yourself a coffee, remake the world until the end of the night, meet new people or have breakfast. Ah, that kitchen. Quite a program. We were treated to that song we now automatically associate with Cracowdays, as well as the pleasant scent of fresh flowers.
Breakfast
In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast at the large kitchen table. On the menu: nothing but good things, including eggs cooked to order, a selection of breads, fresh cake, vegetables, cheese, tea, and excellent coffee. We recommend going early if you want some peace and quiet, or a little later if you want to chat with your neighbors for the day. On that day, we met a charming couple from Chicago.
Location
Cracowdays is ideally located in the heart of Krakow, about 15 minutes' walk from the Market Square. If you're traveling by train, it's easy to catch the bus (501, 511 or 192) or take an Uber. If you're traveling by plane, Magdalena and Janusz offer an airport transfer option. Please ask when booking. Numerous restaurants in the vicinity. The street is very green and quiet.
Krakow is an absolutely charming city... Romantic to the last stone, it's one of the most beautiful cities in Central Europe, along with Prague. Every hour, don't miss the bugle call from the highest tower of St. Mary's Basilica. The musician plays the trumpet for a few seconds and then salutes the crowd.
The establishment has just 8 rooms, each named after a grape variety, and 2 studios with kitchens.
