Our stay

We visited the Manoir du Guern and immediately fell in love. Bernard was kind enough to tell us all about the history of the place, while leafing through the renovation photo album with us. A true family adventure. It used to be a presbytery, the home of the village priest.

The arrival

As you drive up the main driveway, you can see the manor house, protected by its moat, in a veritable natural setting. If it's foggy, the atmosphere is almost mystical. Once inside, admire the noble materials such as hemp lime, old terracotta floor tiles, lime plaster, whitewash and old woodwork. It's very warm and authentic.

Each of the four bedrooms offers a privileged view of the orchard at the rear, the moat, and the surrounding countryside. Particular attention has been paid to the amenities: high-end king-size bedding, private bathroom with shower or bathtub for the Sainte Barbe room, welcome products, work console, and 43-inch television with a stunning mirror screen.

Breakfast

One of the highlights of staying at Manoir du Guern is undoubtedly the breakfast. It is served in the bright dining room overlooking the orchard. Everything is homemade. On the menu: scrambled eggs, fresh bread, local cheese, jams, cold cuts, far breton (a Breton cake), Bernard's lemon cake (to die for!), crumble, and pastries.

The spa and the park

What we love: the light-filled wellness area with a pool heated to 28°C, where you can swim in any season. There is also a sauna. In summer, you can stroll through the wooded park, play pétanque, read in the shade of a cherry tree in the garden, or even fish for carp in the moat. Fishing rods are available for your use.

Location

Le Manoir du Guern is located in Morbihan, France, a 20-minute drive from the medieval town of Auray. Nearby, Port Saint-Goustan awaits your visit.
