Our experience
We had the opportunity to spend a night in the Gatbsy Suite and also to visit the Cabaret Rouge Suite. We love the crazy contrast between the 2 suites and the rest of the hotel. The finish is excellent and there's a real sense of luxury about the fittings and materials. Another highlight is the size.
The suites
- The Cabaret Rouge Suite - N°503 - An exceptional 58 m² suite where luxury and sensuality meet in a décor inspired by the legendary Parisian cabaret. The bathroom features a huge whirlpool bath. Beautiful view of Liège from the bedroom - Video - Photo
- La Suite Gatsby - N°903 - Let yourself be transported to the lavish world of the Roaring Twenties with this sumptuous 77 m² suite inspired by the legendary Great Gatsby. The bathroom features a whirlpool bath, walk-in shower and 2 attractive basins - Video - Photo
In the hotel
Apart from the 2 suites, you have access to the rest of the hotel, including :
- Royal breakfast: served in the large dining room, a real feast!
- The brasserie: open every day for a romantic meal or just an aperitif.
- The outdoor terrace: a drink or lunch in the sun, in a lively atmosphere
- The skybar: on the 10th floor, with cocktails, finger food and a breathtaking view of Liège
- Wellness center: with heated pool, jacuzzi, 2 saunas and outdoor terrace
A few tips
- Each suite has its own advantages: the Gatsby Suite is larger and located on the top floor, while the Cabaret Rouge Suite offers a larger whirlpool bath and more atypical decor.
- If you're planning a surprise, almost anything is possible: flowers throughout the room, balloons or special decorations. Just let us know when you book.
- If you'd like to enjoy the pool in peace and quiet, we recommend going there from 7am to 9:30am or from 7pm to 9pm. During the day, there are sometimes group classes.
- You can relax in the morning. Check-out can be as late as noon, and that's great.
Location
The Van Der Valk Congrès Liège is located in the center of Liège, on the waterfront, just a 15-minute walk from the Guillemins train station and the Médiacité shopping center. Indoor and outdoor parking is available at an additional cost of €1.90/hour or €19.20/day. The location is perfect, right next to the magnificent Parc de la Boverie. If the weather's fine, we highly recommend a stroll along the Meuse river bridge.
Liège's best lunch spot is a 15-minute walk away: Garden Café. Please note that the place is only open from Friday to Monday, from 10am to 3pm. Book as early as possible, as the reviews are very positive. Owner Fabricio does everything to make you feel at home and speaks fluent French, Dutch, English, Spanish, Italian and German. Fantastic, fresh food.
