Our experience here
We had the chance to tour the entire hotel and have a coffee with the person in charge of the front desk. It’s the perfect hotel for a getaway in Paris, located in a very quiet neighborhood.
Check-in is available starting at 2 p.m., which is relatively rare and very convenient. As you approach the hotel, the elegant black façade immediately catches the eye: understated and Parisian in style, with its lanterns and moldings.
Push open the door to discover a warm and welcoming lobby with large wooden beams, exposed stone walls, and soft lighting. The decor is tasteful and reminiscent of old Parisian mansions. The welcome is simple and attentive.
The rooms
With only 12 rooms, the hotel offers an intimate atmosphere where light cream tones reveal the beauty of solid oak. Here are some of our favorite rooms:
1 • Standard Room • Photo • Photo
2 • Superior Room • Photo • Photo
3 • Deluxe Top Floor Room • Photo • Photo
Depending on your choice, you will have the following amenities: double or queen-size bed, private bathroom with walk-in shower, Horus faucets, toiletries from The Botanist & The Chemist, hairdryer, living room, Smart TV, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi.
Our tip: When you book, ask for a room on the highest floor possible and as far away from the elevator as possible. Rooms 401 and 402 are the quietest. On the lower floors, ask for rooms 102, 202, or 302. They have two windows instead of just one and are quieter.
The breakfast buffet
In the early morning, between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m., head to the basement to enjoy breakfast in the splendid vaulted natural stone cellar. Served as a buffet, breakfast is optional, at a cost of €30 for two. To prolong the magic of waking up together, breakfast can also be brought to your room on request.
On the menu: traditional baguette, whole wheat bread, sandwich bread, croissants, chocolate croissants, apple turnovers, chocolate-pistachio rolls, cereal, dried fruit, jam, honey, unsalted or lightly salted butter, spreads, yogurt, fruit, cheese, cold cuts, hot drinks, and orange, apple, or grapefruit juice.
Note: Since the breakfast room is quite small, we recommend avoiding peak hours (between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.) so you can choose your table at your leisure and avoid crowds. This is especially true on Sunday mornings.
The extras
- Love Package: half bottle of champagne, bouquet of roses, and box of macarons in your room (€89)
- Petite Love Box: romantic box with a few intimate accessories (€15)
- Grande Love Box: romantic box with intimate accessories, surprises, and games for couples (€35)
- Parking: private and secure parking a few steps from the hotel (€30 per night)
- Dogs: dogs are welcome (€20 per night)
- Early check-in and late check-out subject to availability
Do you need a private shuttle during your stay? The hotel offers its own high-end service, with its own drivers and vehicles. Here is a photo of one of the vehicles. They can take care of your transfers to and from all train stations and airports. They can also be used for sightseeing trips.
Note: If you stay for at least 5 nights and book a private shuttle, one of the two trips is free.
The Marais neighborhood
The Saint-Louis Marais hotel is located in the 4th arrondissement, one of the most sought-after and culturally rich neighborhoods in Paris. The Marais is a clever mix of historic architecture, art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants.
Every time we come to Paris, we go shopping in the Marais. We love the beautiful buildings and the neighborhood’s village-like atmosphere.
If the weather is nice, we recommend taking a stroll to Notre-Dame Cathedral, less than a 15-minute walk away, via Île Saint-Louis, which feels like a small village. It has a quintessentially Parisian atmosphere.
Just a 5-minute walk from the Opéra Bastille, we discovered a super-charming and romantic wine bar: Les Amoureuses. The place features a large communal table and a cozy, secluded table for two. The service is top-notch, the music is vintage, and the online reviews are overwhelmingly positive. You absolutely must try the orange wine.
