The arrival
Located in the middle of the pretty village of Medel, the building dates back to 1912. As soon as you step inside, you discover a place full of charm and character. The wooden floors are original, as are the stone stoves. Everything is lovingly furnished. The floor creaks to the rhythm of your footsteps and sometimes the wind can be heard all around the house. Petra and Maxi are adorable and always do their utmost to please.

The Pignon room is our favorite. It's closest to the roof terrace and offers an impressive view of the Mutschnengia suspension bridge and Piz Pazzola. In winter, you can watch the deer at dusk or as the sun rises.
The equipment
Depending on the room you choose, you will have the following amenities: unique hand-painted king size bed, four-poster bed in some rooms, stone stove providing cozy warmth, mountain view or view of the village center with the church, beautiful woodwork with delicious woody scents and beams on the ceiling.
Breakfast
Every morning, a superb breakfast is served, with many home-made and local specialities. On the menu: homemade müesli, homemade jams, freshly squeezed juice, alpine butter, alpine cheese from Sennaria Surselva in Disentis (10 minutes by car) and meat products from the Pally Beno butcher's shop in Medel. Breakfast is included in the booking price.
La table d'hôtes
In the evening, Chrämerhus serves delicious, authentic regional cuisine. A surprise 3-course menu is offered with fresh, seasonal products from producers that Petra and Maxi know personally. Don't forget to book in advance.
Cake baking is a great passion of Petra's! That's why there's often a delicious smell of cake coming from the kitchen. Try the apple strudel from Petra's Viennese grandmother's recipe: it's a real treat!
Spa
During the day, indulge in a moment of pure relaxation in the wellness area. A sauna made from organic Swiss stone pine, a heated stone deckchair and a Nordic foot bath with a view of the mountains await you.
Location
Medel is a Swiss municipality in the canton of Graubünden, located in the wilderness region of Surselva. It is one of the centers of the Graubünden sheep farming. There are about 400 inhabitants here. Lucerne is 2h20 away by car. About 15 minutes away, there is the Museum La Truaisch, a nice museum to visit in a typical chalet. Great collection of crystals and an overview of the life in the region in the 19th century.

You can arrive from 4pm and leave in the morning until 10am. You can also ask for a late departure at 2pm. You just have to ask for it the day before if it is possible.
