History
Built in 1905 and reopened in May 2011 after a complete renovation, this art nouveau villa has lost none of its historic charm. The hotel was built by the entrepreneur Emil Durrer at the beginning of the 20th century.
In those days, guests were transported to the hotel by cart and later by limousine. Motorized guests arrived at Honegg in their own vehicles, taking the narrow road from the Ennetbürgen community about 10 minutes away. There were travelers from all over the world, and they often stayed for 3 to 4 weeks, sometimes for the whole summer.

The restaurant
For your meals, you've come to the right place! Enjoy tasty and high quality cuisine in the hotel's restaurant or on the terrace with a breathtaking view of the lake. Some products come from the garden and orchard on site: carrots, turnips, apples and aromatic herbs in particular. The hotel produces its own honey with an experienced beekeeper and bees raised on site.
To serve you exceptional meat, the hotel collaborates with the traditional butcher Stalder. Special mention should be made of the stale beef entrecote on the bone: a pure delight! For its vegetables, Villa Gonneg works with the Murmatt farm in the canton of Nidwalden.
An evening by the fire
At the end of the evening, go to the elegant lounge by the fireplace to drink a digestif, smoke a cigar or play a game of chess. The subdued atmosphere is particularly pleasant. If the weather permits, you can enjoy the terrace until sunset.
The spa
The hotel spa opens early and closes at 11pm. Outside, take a dip in the heated outdoor pool at 34°C, rain, snow or shine. The panorama of Lake Lucerne is breathtaking! And indoors, treat yourself to a relaxing break in the Finnish sauna or steam bath. The products used come from Swiss brand Jacqueline Piotaz.
Location
The hotel is located on the top of the Bürgenstock mountain, at 914 meters above sea level, in Switzerland. Numerous hiking and biking trails lead you through thick forests and flowering meadows. Take the mythical Felsenweg, a path carved into the cliff, and discover the 150-meter high Hammetschwand elevator that takes you to the top of the Bürgenstock.
